Ricardo Autobahn - 55000 Disco Records

Ricardo Autobahn was the brains behind and frontman of John Peel favourites the Cuban Boys, whose EMI single 'Cognoscenti Vs Intelligentsia (The Hamster Dance Song)' sold a million at Christmas 1999 and reached no.4 in the UK charts.

Following the demise of the Cuban Boys, Autobahn teamed up with Daz Sampson and the pair immediately scored top 10 hits including ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ as Rikki & Daz - featuring Glen Campbell himself – and Daz’s UK Eurovision song ‘Teenage Life’. Behind the scenes the pair worked with Leigh Francis (Keith Lemon) on the Bo Selecta Christmas single and had top 40 hits in Germany and Austria with the likes of Darius & Finlay, and their own DJ Daz project.

As a producer and writer, Ric has worked with artists as diverse as Devo, Heaven 17, Hollwood actress and singer Jane Badler and Lee Latchford-Evans from Steps. He created the theme for the BBC2 sitcom 'Still Game' and composed, mixed and produced an album of “modern pop-themed ballroom music” for the US Fox TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. Autobahn also created the viral YouTube phenomenon 'The Golden Age Of Video', seen on TV around the world, and is the keyboard player with cult indiepop band Helen Love.
