Global roots aka Thristian has carved out an international reputation amongst music lovers and producers as a champion of a broad and eclectic range of local genres. As a DJ, Thristian’s selections are grounded in his East London roots while taking us on a journey across borders and beyond. 

Locked in to a community of a consistently fertile generation of music production and a culture of underground parties, early projects included running warehouse parties in east London and experimenting with online broadcasting platforms such as bi-monthly music blog Hold Box Flat.
After playing the first record from a warehouse in East London, Thristian co-established the concept of Boiler Room as a broadcasting space for (previously largely inaccessible) underground parties, taking the scene online, while keeping the essence underground and opening up to an international audience. Acts and DJs selected by Thristian for the early days of Boiler Room include Richie Hawtin, DJ EZ, Masters at Work, Thom Yorke, Frankie Knuckles… the list is endless.


Thristian continued running warehouse parties in east London, and had begun working closely with Gilles Peterson and across Gilles’ projects - Brownswood Records, Sounds of the Universe, Worldwide Festival and Soul Jazz Records as part of an influential and informal partnership/ apprenticeship.

During this creatively immersive time, Thristian picked up the mic and became ironically known as the “Boiler Room MC” in addition to hosting on NTS. This brought a new layer of insight to his offering with an infamously informal yet informed thought processes and easy chat. 

In 2015, Thristian dropped the mic at both Boiler Room & NTS and spent the year exploring the world independently as a DJ. Linking up with emerging producers and crate digging internationally brought Thristian back to London the following year to set up Worldwide FM with long time associate Gilles Peterson.

Leading the station as Creative Director, Thristian is back on the mic with his weekly shows Global Roots and New Music Worldwide. Current side projects include We Talk Music and Four to the Floor, UK’s Channel 4’s new music magazine show alongside continuing to run parties in London and DJing around the world.

Ricardo is hosting a weekly resident party “Tropical animal” in Florence since 2010, this party is a platform of nice alternative house, disco and techno in Florence. Ricardo has played at clubs across the world from Tresor to Watergate to Corsica Studio. His label has released the music from Daniele Baldelli, whitesquare,DJ octopus.

Ricardo’s debut release on Mule Musiq is a very good mixture of 90’s deep house and colorful synths.

He is definitely worthy of attention new artist!

Ricardo Baez draws on many influences. Electro, house, synth-pop and italo are pillars of the Italian artist’s unique style. The Florence based musician arrives at the Bordello with On and On. Featuring Curses, the opener is a floor-filler. Known for his EBM-stained wave works, this vocal mix is a late night Summer romp. Crisp percussion and warm bass lines usher in addictive hooks and throaty vocals from Luca Venezia. The original version follows. Lyrics are stripped back allowing the upbeat synth play to take the limelight. Cascading notes announce the flip. “Sfida Notturna” is built on delicate drum patterns and arc of string before breaking to a heady dawn. “Dietro L’orizzonte” brings the curtain down. This month's guest mix comes from Rotterdam based artist Richelle Soigni,  well known in the underground club scene for more than 20 years. Since the early 90’s, she amassed an impressive collection of records and this passion made her into one of the faces of Clone Records.

She expanded her playing field amongst cities all over Europe but always brings the West Coast Sound of Holland with her. Richelle is an instinctive DJ who is looking for the audacious character in music and merges different genres and combines old with new. Expect the unexpected in her sets with a positive, raw melodic sound.

The track opens with a syncopated rhythmic section where voices of various tones intertwine, while a swelling pad underneath leads to a suspended childish time frame. The track continues with a crescendo and decrescendo of emotions, evoking moments of absolute carefreeness and freedom, almost as if it were transporting us to paradise.
