1) In the summer of 2009, Ricardo Redd took a bus from Columbia, SC to  Atlanta, GA to audition for American Idol. He waited in line for over 8 hours. After his audition, the judges told him that he had a "great voice", but he was "neither the height, nor the image" they were looking for. 

2) In high school, Ricardo performed at the local "Apollo" competition in Columbia, SC - but he was booed off the stage within seconds of the music playing. They never gave him a chance. 

3) In the summer of 2012, Ricardo was cast to play in "The Brand New Kid" musical tour. The ensemble performed on stage at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami, as well as on stages in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and even Orlando. 

4) In December of 2013, Ricardo wrote and delivered the graduation speech for the 'Rose and Candle' ceremony at Barry University. The next day, Ricardo performed 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at his own commencement ceremony, in front of thousands of his peers, and all graduation attendees.
