Sweetwood - A celebration of Feelgood

Sweetwood is a brand-new project of Amsterdam based writers/producers collective Voice Calling Radio. Sweetwood celebrates feelgood music of the last 40 years by releasing new & original tracks based on the sound of music from past and present. This sound does not restrict itself to one genre but may originate from rock, pop, hip hop, funk or dance music.

Although all tracks are original compositions, Sweetwood's influences are clearly audible. Besides releasing their own tracks Sweetwood respectfully pays homage to a vast array of fantastic writers, producers, composers and artists from the past. On their social media pages, Sweetwood will tell the story where they got the inspiration from for their own music.

• On Facebook and Instagram there will be a 'Sweetwood Daily Snack': every day a new track from the past with the typical "Very Sweetwood" sound.

• Every week Sweetwood will celebrate a 'Very Sweetwood Artist Of The Week', so listeners interested in a certain sound, can discover this music more in depth.

• As a counter reaction to the trend of consumers becoming more and more "track focused" as opposed to "album focused", Sweetwood will feature an 'Album Of The Month'. A classic album that according to Sweetwood is far more than the sum of its individual tracks.

• There will be a 'Weekly Wisdom' quote from a famous musician or producer.

Sweetwood's wish is to put a smile on the face of the older music lovers who "have been there and heard it" and at the same time to help a new generation discover "new-old-music". People who are not restricted by style, era or image but just triggered by music that makes one feel good.... Now that's Very Sweetwood!

Riccardo Brush, DJ e produttore romano, inizia il suo viaggio musicale all'età di 15 anni, quando comincia a mixare per divertimento con un vecchio registratore a cassette a doppia piastra. La sua passione per la musica lo porta ad avvicinarsi alla Techno, un genere che diventa presto il suo marchio di fabbrica nei locali della capitale.

Negli anni '90, Riccardo trasforma la sua passione in una carriera professionale, diventando un simbolo del movimento Progressive di Roma. La sua carriera decolla quando diventa DJ resident nel leggendario Club 06, dove si guadagna il soprannome di "Marziano" grazie ai suoi set sempre innovativi e sorprendenti.

Nel 1995, lancia il programma radiofonico "il BUNKER di Brush" su Radio Centro Suono, che diventa un appuntamento cult per gli amanti della musica. Viene premiato come DJ dell’anno all'Alien di Roma e diventa testimonial di Peecker Sound, portandolo a esibirsi nei migliori club d’Italia, da Insomnia, Echoes, Imperiale a Hollywood, e a partecipare a eventi prestigiosi come Exogroove e Templares.

Con oltre 15.000 party all'attivo, Riccardo non si fa etichettare in un solo genere, ma spazia tra diversi stili, mantenendo i suoi set sempre freschi e coinvolgenti. Nel 2001, fonda l’organizzazione "Air-Tek", diventando DJ resident al Cyborg Disco, uno dei locali più grandi della penisola.

Dopo alcune produzioni con Syntetic Record, nel 2002 entra nella DDE Records, dove collabora con Stefano Di Carlo per creare il brano "Fraulein", che diventa un successo europeo recensito su Muzik. Negli anni recenti, ha continuato a produrre per CA3 Records, ampliando il suo repertorio.

Riccardo coltiva anche una forte passione per la radio, fondando CLUBRADIO06 e continuando a trasmettere il suo programma "il BUNKER di Brush". Durante il lockdown, lancia ATRMIX, un’agenzia dedicata alla post-produzione radiofonica, producendo programmi che vanno in onda su oltre 150 radio in tutto il mondo.

Nel 2022, Riccardo ha aperto una discoteca di nome Meraki, dove segue anche la direzione artistica, continuando a contribuire attivamente alla scena musicale con eventi di alta qualità di ogni genere.

Oggi, Riccardo Brush continua a essere un punto di riferimento nella scena musicale, innovando e rimanendo fedele alla sua passione per la musica, mantenendo viva l'energia che lo ha guidato fin dall'inizio della sua carriera.
