For this mix, I take a turn towards my interpretation of the darker side of my love affair with house music: at some points haunting, other times beefy, perhaps lush at points, but consistently melodic. Following on last month's theme. As patina is the surface expressing what's underneath, lustre is the energy that emanates outwards. The tracks in this mix have a warm, gentle but driving depth to them. There are some feelings in here that I associate to the sense of power held by aged wood, as both a strong material and a soft expression of life.
