This is about as close to a "dittie" as you get in the synth VST world. I loaded up 5 different VSTs, four from Logic Pro X and 1 from Kontakt, mapped them into 5 different and sometimes overlapping parts of the keyboard and played it all in one go. In other words this is a one man band piece that can be performed live - there are no overlays just a single play. It was kind of fun doing this and I felt like one of those street musicians playing on a pedestrian street in front of an old-fashioned department store while playing. Maybe some of you will enjoy.

Liftoff & Alit

We had met for a jam session without plan and purpose during the last sunny Saturday afternoon last year. By the time of this recording, we hadn't known that soon we would want to go for pee break, that the studio door is self closing, that the key was left in the studio, and that we would end up with nothing but the clothes on ourselves, one face mask and a bit of cash, and that we would spend the rest of the day waiting in front of some pub until it would open because there were rumors that some Tim working there has another key.

Mill Lane is our temporary rehearsal space this year - located in the nth suburbs of Hobart its a huge warehouse that is in the process of being emptied of museum equipment. Each week the space gets bigger and more cathedral like as the crates go out the roller door. Heres a little taste from the other night.. you will need to excuse me on 2 fronts - My zoom seems to be reaching the end of its life so the recordings is pretty scratchy and 2 I reckon i am a bit out of tune... anyway the energy is good and the ears locked in to what the other musician is doing which I guess is the main thing. Kirby/Ward riffing at Mill Lane

An instrumental tribute to my favourite three piece rock band.
Formed in 1968, they were at the top of their game as musicians and songwriters and had a massive following across the globe. Currently they are ranked fifth in the U.S. for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio album sales by a rock band, only behind The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kiss and Aerosmith.
I had the pleasure of seeing them play live many times during their lengthy career and it always amazed me how three guys could make such an amazing sound. They finally called it a day with the sad passing of their drummer in 2020. The song title is a reference to the place where they were formed and to the lyrics of one of their early songs, but who were they?
