lostrich is the pop-alternative solo project of Richard Bregoliss, guitarist and songwriter of the mid 2010s BC indie pop group Van Damsel (2009-2017). After an extended hiatus from music, Richard began work on what would become lostrich in 2020 as the pandemic began. With the addition of his voice, lostrich is an evolution of the sound developed in his previous work. lostrich is nostalgic indie pop-alternative drawing influence from acts like m83, Beach House, and an array of guitar driven 00s indie rock bands — all converging through more than a decade of composing into a sound all his own. 

The self produced debut self-titled LP lostrich is a product of isolation: bedroom recordings, closet vocal booths, and failed mixing attempts. Longtime friend Jackson J Gardner helped finalize the record with additional production and engineering at his studio Freedom Liberty. The songs are a  self reflective relationship post-op: a break-up record that addresses the pain that comes from lack of closure. lostrich is set for anticipated release in fall 2022.
