Toccata for Piano solo

This Adagio is the third scene of my Ballet for Business. It is no coincidence that I based the instrumentation on Gustav Mahler's "Adagietto" from the 5th Symphony. Because this piece is a love story. It therefore also refers in the same way to the stories of "Tristan and Isolde" and "Orpheus and Eurydice" - with solo violin and solo violoncello standing for the two protagonists - and the harp, of course, for Orpheus. It's a melancholic piece, but also perhaps my most tender one to date.

Adagio from Ballet for Business (Scene 3: Office Romance)

Seemingly from the beginning of time, human beings have
had a mysterious relationship with Serpents. They may be the
oldest and most widespread mythological symbol known to humankind
and the symboloy often expresses the duel relationship between good
and evil. Fertility, sky and spirit unity, the umbilical cord, healing &
medicine, devine wisdom, guardians of secrets, are only a few
of the symbolic associations known to us.
This music attempts to capture some of the power and mystery
associated with the mysterious serpent.
