We wanted to create something reminiscent of that classic Beach Boys era, rock-pop psychedelia. Something cheesy, but in a cool way, the type of tune where you can’t help but do a little dance. 

It’s a story of infatuation and social ineptitude, of romantic interest gone awry, one I can imagine resonating with a fair few listeners as we stand together in awkward solidarity.

It’s good to embrace your flaws and we couldn’t think of a better way to go about that than declaring it publicly with a crazy drum beat, bicycle bell percussion and a slap bass solo.

This track presents a modern twist on the boy-meets-girl cliché of the 1960’s verse-maker and while it’s not exactly a ‘true story’, I’d like to think that all stories have a truth about them. This story’s truth is that social interactions are tricky, sometimes it’s just easier to simply smile and wave.
