This was record at a practice on my Galaxy 7 phone. We downloaded it to Studio One 3 software by Presonus. By duplicating the original track and filter each of 2 tracks for drums and guitar we where able to strengthen the performance to sound like a stand a lone take. I added th3 bass part again to bring it out more, and finally Tim Wolf and I added some backing vocals. Hope you like it. 
This is the first tune in a "One-Song-A-Week" Challenge that I am making. Hope you like it. More to come next Sunday night.

I started a challenge to write one song a week. I had this idea and my band 'US the Band' (Tim Wolf, Patrick Klaybor, and I) helped record and work out the parts. I 'm probably going to add backing vocals later. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Velvet Rythmn

Can you take the flame from the fire? Can you break the ribbon from the bow? We're all connected. This piece tries to capture a Beatleish sound to a global question... can we separate ourselves one another... from planetary stewardship? Well, can we? Thanks to long time friend Jay Mattis for his percussion and production brilliance. 

02 - Only Heaven Knows

Sitting in the living room, playing guitar  and this popped out. This was recorded in Robin Pluer's dinning room on her little rehearsal recorder. So sweet. With my wonderful friend Laura Wall. One of the best tunes I've been a part of writing. 

06 - Justus Woods

This was actually my daughter's first song. She was 5 at the time. She started making up the words as we walked in the park near our home. When we got home I figured out the chords and we recorded it in the sun room. She is playing the tambourine or something while I'm playing the guitar. Yes, that is our canary Corduroy singing with us in the background.  She insisted that we had to end with oh Baby, something she heard on an old record of mine. 

10 - Oh Baby

This is a song I and Joel Plewa were working on to tighten up our vocals. It such a great lesson in voxel pronunciation, timing and interesting harmony.
It's an old standard. The bass, rhythm guitar, and piano were live Drums, strings, and sax solo were generated thru Band-in-a-box and Studio One 4.

What Would I Do?

I've been writting since I was 12. Was on the road with the "Blues People" by 18 and had sold 13 songs in Europe by 25 several to Arnie Kay "the Blues Bear". I moved away from my roots to explore other style including blue grass, jazz and metaphysical themes - lke Only Heaven Know. I'm planning to produce more blues based pieces in the near future. Let me know what you think.
