My introduction into the music world was when I was 11 years old. I played the Highland Bagpipes. At the age of 13 I was writing music for the bagpipes to which the 'Royal Scots' have a piece of my work in there repertoire. I enrolled on a foundation course at a recording studio feeling the need to learn more. Up until this point I had never seen a Mac computer or used a music programme. This course started my interest to learn more about what can be achieved when an artist sits down at his computer to create music.

To gain experience I have had releases on netlabels, Independent labels and also had my music accompany short films, media projects and art festivals in America. I am always excited with any opportunity that comes my way that enables me to share my music and reach out to the audience or an individual because music is a fantastic medium in which to express feelings and emotion wether that be the writer writing the music or the listener listening to it.

Manni Dee is internationally recognised as a producer of blistering techno, however there is more to Manni Dee than his sprawling discography of searing sounds. Today he's a multidisciplinary artist working across music, film and fashion. Manni’s open-minded approach remains the root of his creative process.

Working from opposite ends of the electronic spectrum adds another layer to Manni’s leading-edge practice, demonstrated in his co-production work for rock outfit The Horrors, and his long-term co-writer relationship with Daniel Avery. Both Manni and Daniel co-produced Resident Advisor’s film ‘VOID - One Year Of Silence’ and contributed a track to Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2022 show. 

Based in London, Manni is an in-demand artist beyond the UK. Curating his event series Silk + Steel at FOLD, the party is a platform to elevate genre-defying artists, and to support a diverse resonance that is strongly needed to push UK dance culture forward.

Industrial-strength releases on Perc Trax, Possession, S.L.A.M. and his debut album ‘The Residue’ on Tresor propelled Manni’s profile internationally, in tandem with an ongoing residency at London’s Rinse FM. Remixes for Daniel Avery, Sleaford Mods, The Horrors and Louisahhh built his back catalogue, and tours spanning North & South America, Asia and Europe dominated his diary. 

Looking forward, Manni is demonstrating his ability to synthesise disparate sounds, as heard in his Friday Night Guest mix for Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 6 Music, and in fiery mixes for Dekmantel, DJ Mag.

Cultivating a sound and vision that shows no boundaries, Manni Dee is striking out from preconceived notions of who he is as an artist, and is leaving a definitive stamp in the fields of electronic music, art and fashion.
