79.5 is the sound of New York City. The Brooklyn-based band presents their forthcoming self-titled album on Razor-N-Tape.

Soulful and psychedelic, the collection’s masterful melodies may be hard to categorize, from 70’s underground disco to acid jazz to sugary sweet pop. Its very existence is a protest of the old boy’s club in the music industry. And, a personal triumph against all odds, while illuminating the most beautiful collaboration between friends.

79.5 is singer, songwriter and composer Kate Mattison, singer and rapper Lola Adanna, drummer Caito Sanchez (Charles Bradley, Lee Fields), bassist Andrew Raposo (Midnight Magic, Hess Is More) and sax player + flautist Izaak Mills.

This is a new sound for Get To Know. I stumbled on this as I wanted to become a "multi-instrumentalist" without having to take years out to learn, so I set myself a rule in the studio. All the musical parts had to be played in either on the keys, guitar or bass. 

This led to some horrendous music being made but eventually, I've reached the point where I'm able to sample my own playing and be happy or maybe even excited by it! 

Whilst I feel like this about the results, my enjoyment of the actual process is the same sensation x 1000.....

I've never enjoyed making music so much and I have 100s of track ideas that I'm genuinely buzzing to finish and get out there.
