This is a very rough work-in-progress snippet of the second track for my Mapped EP. It's all about my friend called Anna, who was a troubled soul. She was always looking for clarity but could never find it. She told me a story one day about how she was feeling lost and alone. It was a stormy summers night in North London and she went to sit on the steps in her back garden. The heavens opened, the rain came down and she said she danced to a tune that was playing in her head. This is my interpretation of that song.

In an incidental note, I'm in the cover photo, dancing on Margate beach as part of an art installation - as one does.

Rain Dance (Work In Progress Snippet)

I travelled to Israel several years ago and visited the small town of Sefad. The town is one of the centres of Jewish Mysticism with many of influential Rabbis buried in its hillside cemetery.  One evening, I sat at the base of the hill and watched the sun set. The atmosphere was peaceful, but electric and there was a sense of the calm and restful energy that time and acceptance of its passing brings. This song is based on that evening and that feeling.

My remix for Quivver's 8 Bit Eclipse competition in December 2018. The original version is one of my favourite tracks of the year, and I hope you enjoy my take on it. It's been a privilege to get access to the stems and work on this. I was a little reticent about adding vox but after I went back and listened to John's Twist & Shout, I thought he'd approve :)

Richard is a singer, writer, programmer, producer and keyboard/piano player. He has been a member of several electronic bands including Moonshot, Epic Colour and Butterfly Syndicate. He has also remixed tracks by Ian Dillon, Gary Noakes, Crimson Death & Pixiguts. 

Richard has a keen appreciation of many musical genres as evidenced in the wide range of styles in his back catalogue.  After going to Sasha's & John Digweed's reunion set at The Social in 2016, Richard's passion for dance music was reawakened and he began writing tracks with more of a progressive and melodic house style. 

His latest project is an eight track deep/melodic house album called Mapped, which is inspired by some of the places he has visited around the world. The first track is Sefad Hillside and is available as a free download on this site. The second track is called And Then Came The Snow and is currently in production.  Written about the time I walked out of SWG3 after Sasha and Digweed: The snow sounded like fresh vinyl under our feet and our ears were ringing from one of the best sets I've heard in a long time. As we all trouped towards the taxi ranks we were silent with knowing smiles and handshakes. We knew it had been a special night. I hope it will be a special track and a fitting tribute to my two biggest dance music heroes.
