Richard Savo (Born April 07, 1982) was born and raised in Acre, From an early age (10) he started studying to play the piano, loving to hear its tones and rhythms.
This love for music gave him the tools necessary to become a talented musician and singer (Rapper).

In 1999, Richard along with two of his friends, started the first Arabic rap band called “MWR.” It was through MWR that Richard was able to impact the musical scene throughout the world with an amazing mix of eastern and western styles. He has left a permanent stamp on the industry and a model for others to follow.

Richard further expanded his career and talents by undertaking a huge task – composing, scoring and producing a series of original sound tracks for a 15 hour historical drama called “The God Stories.” Working on this film project took him to Morocco and then Holland where he lived for a while. 

While in Holland he was inspired by the Clubbing and Dance Scene and it was there that he decided to use all his gifts and skills in further advancing the whole field of electronic music. Adding to his already significant portfolio Richard rounded out his experience with formal study in Sound Design and Synthesis.

Music in any film is often overlooked because of cost factors, lack of qualified artists or ignorance on the part of the producers. The God’s Stories Series has been blessed to have one of the most talented, native born, screenplay composers in the Middle East designing the intricate rhythms, flowing melodies and powerful music for the stories. Richard Savo, the man behind the music, wrote, composed, mixed and recorded ALL of the GII music. All the music tracks were written from scratch, each drum beat built up from silence, each instrument carefully chosen to expand and build on the visual and voice work of the actors to round out the full audio and video experience of the viewer. Richard struggled for hours on end to capture the sense and feeling of the script often creating a ‘hidden’ character that the viewers feels just outside the frame of the picture.


The GII series has been extremely fortunate to have Richard listed on the credits for all 15 hours of the Old Testament series. To see Richard you would not expect to see the power, emotion and strength that flow from him because he is generally quiet, not pushy, yet very creative. He is a young man that is a rising star in the field of composition, DJ performance, and music composition and performance.


As you watch any of the GII stories (on YouTube, DVD or broadcast), listen to the music and see how much richer the stories are because of it.
