I thought that this mix was cool when it came out.  The concept of mixing loops in software was fresh for a second. I know Richie thinks mixing records is outdated but the minimal era of click clack ticking is boring and soulless compared to the Plastikparty era. Sure, you spend all your energy catering to large festivals or clubs and need to constantly make yourself relevant, but this minimalism is very sterile and that becomes limiting after a short while. Minimal has been the norm for a long time now but it has the same problem that modern art or architecture creates. As an isolated concept it can be quite beautiful. When you put too much of it together it becomes rather ugly and boring. It's just replication at the most obtuse level. But I have strong theories regarding modernism and minimalism from studying architecture that affects my opinions of music.
