Let's Get It

Born and raised in Cambridge, MA, Rich Kimble was inspired by the local college radio station to chase his dream and become a recording artist. He loved the way that the groups mentioned on the station, the ones in rotation, were constantly making guest appearances on the station. By the age of 11, he had formed a duo group called the The Crusty Kids with an old friend. They were given the name by the independent rap group The Skitzofreniks. Turned down by The Skitzofreniks producer, EB, Rich began his music production career and started developing his beat making skills at the ripe old age of 12. By the end of his sophomore year in high school, Rich was introduced to a music production and synthesizer lab instructor and began his formal training. He was hooked.
 
Rich officially started the Synth lab class in his junior year as the instructor's first official student, working on donated equipment. He picked up the trade quickly. Within 2 years, Rich produced over 3000 original pieces. His skills caught the attention of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Talent Search Committee. He became the first hip hop artist and producer in the history of that respected talent search to participate in their ceremony. Rich pursued his musical education with zeal in college, taking whatever course he could find that had anything to do with music production. On the advice of classmate and friend, the international DJ known as Lazyboy, Rich began using an AKAI MPC 2000 exclusively.
 
Rich began carving his name into history from there. Over the years he has produced numerous local artists along with many independent artists. After honing his chops locally, Rich started working on his own original sound in 1999. That sound became known as Ultrasoun. Rich made a name for himself over the next decade, known as that guy with the crazy beats. From 2001 to 2006, Rich produced and recorded 3 original albums, mixing traditional hip hop with some of his trademark Ultrasoun. Rich moved to Baltimore in 2006 to start a music company called Rich Music. In Baltimore, he was fortunate to work with major artists like the legendary Chief Rocker Busy Bee, Substantial, and other established artists. By the end of 2009, Rich moved back to Boston to reclaim his home turf.
 
Determined to make a positive change in the music industry, he started helping out a friend whose nephew was an R&B artist signed to an independent label (formerly under EMI).  The artist's name was Josh Xantus. The label was called M USA Entertainment. Both were highly respected names in the music industry, and Rich had another important credit to add to his music resume.
 
Rich then got into the back end of the business, helping to build Josh Xantus' name, brand, and image and he began to redevelop his sound. These actions caught the attention of the man who ran M USA, who then asked Rich to run the company. Rich became the Executive VP/General Manager of M USA. He chose the artist's next single, titled Take 2, re-made his image organizing all new photos, a website upgrade, and even directed his music video with Vital Films.
 
Rich left the company in 2011 to pursue his own career once again. In 2012 Rich started an online entertainment magazine called Visual Content Magazine, putting his experience, networking skills, and hard earned access to the industry to use. The magazine's official launch came in the summer of 2013.  With all of his knowledge, experience, and drive, Rich decided to get back into music again as an artist. Now, with a magazine under his belt, a buzz on the scene, an extensive network to work with, and a hands on understanding of building brands and companies, thanks to the magazine, there is no better time to go all the way and successfully complete his career as an artist. Rich is currently working on a new album and building his own brand, Rich Kimble. The possibilities are limitless, and for Rich, the future is now!
