Ever had to let go of someone, say, forever and felt you were powerless to do much about it?

This was very much the case when this song was written in 2003. It has been recorded and reworked at Tyburn, Birmingham during  Summer 2021.

It is based around a catchy acoustic picked segment and rolls along quite nicely, so it makes the cut for the "Upatoptheetchy" album.

A piano ballad that had been kicking around at work on my piano for a good few years. Finally nailed down during Summer 2021 at Tyburn, Birmingham with Dave setting a drum loop and Paul brought in to reinforce my original piano hook. Last thing to go on were some new lyrics for the middle 8 at the time of recording. One of the earlier tracks laid down for "Upatoptheetchy".

6. Mistaken Me (Rich Parsons 2022).mp3

Written in 1998 for one of my old bands, this song has managed to get several makeovers in the time that has elapsed. It once again made it onto "Upatoptheetchy" and has been a family favourite for some time.

I dont claim to be an amazing guitarist but was quite proud of this. This now features a live style ending. Recorded at Tyburn during  Summer 2021. Enjoy.

This has the same bones as that original but ive redone the lyrics and harmony a little.
It stands up fairly well as a solid acoustic track. Bit of an anthem back in the times of my teen bands.

Upatoptheetchy is a collection of original songs from Midlands based singer/ performer/ songwriter RICH PARSONS. It contains assorted songs written from his teens onwards, reworked rewritten and rebadged for 2023 at last.
It is inspired by the greatest playground in the world. I was a lucky boy growing up. And luckily i can still go back there.
