A remix of the one second clip above, stretched out by fifty times, any patterned sounds and harmonics pulled out with stochastic leftovers removed, manipulated some more to make a half dozen versions, and then layered a bunch of ways to put it back together. I hope nobody is offended.  I found it amazing all the sound buried in the whirlwind.

Sound collage of the 2010 Todos Somos Arizona action taking overa full day and into the evening if you count bail and release blocking out  a corner of downtown LA with 8 activists lying in the intersection chained together.  This is more or less a narrative of the events, which you can follow along by keeping an eye on the timeline for the comments as they pop up. Todos Somos Arizona was a coalition of Los Angeles activists who came together to support the repeal of Arizona SB1070 anti immigrant law. Most of the law ended up repealed in the courts though some parts still stand.

ok, this one is tricky.  It is all treble, wobble, and echo and reverb.  I have to play really really lightly, or as Monisha's parent used to say, It will shatter your nerves.  THe idea is to get this really fragile delicate, raw nerve thing without doing the actual shattering.  Should NOT be played loud.  It is a 4 in the morning kinda thing.  Even paying attention I picked a couple of the treble strings a little too hard.  Will probably try again on this one.  Software is again Bias Fx and Bias Amp through an iPad modeling an extreme setting on my long gone Ampeg vt40 amp..  

Post trip nerves

Play it on a sunny day if you're only happy when it rains.  This is a chill thing, not much going on it seems on the surface.  Nice background music that will make you reach for your raincoat when you leave.  The track is a simple live guitar improv run through four different lanes with the use of some rain sounds in unusual ways.

just an experiment with a synth setting I liked on UHE's BazilleCM vst synth that I got by subscribing to computer music magazine.  reminded me of the proto-synth-punk-actually-kind-of-beyond-genre duo Suicide's famous Ghost Rider, but not; hence the silly spoonerism for the title.

Meditation for the day the universe was drunk

In flight entertainment. Recorded and mixed on my plane trip from Honolulu to Boston on my iPad.  One of the instruments is a combination of me rolling a wheeled backpack over tiles by the UH library and sharpening a knife, both treated in the Soundscaper app.  The other apps are Moog Model D, patterning 2 and Geoshred.

This song is set up around taking little bits out of a loop until there is not much left then rebuilding it and repeating: a punctuated, evolving repetition under some mixed up beats and crackly guitar.  It is about playing the silences as well as the sounds.
