I will aim to do a monthly podcast to showcase what I have found, mix it using Traktor, and then publish it. A free music playlist for each month has been / will also be published containing music that I have found - some which I haven't used may be used in the future - fitting everything into an hour is difficult!

December 14 Toddcast - Free Music Podcast - Please Repost - Download Links in Track Info

Since it has been over a year since I've put together a dedicated techno & house mix, I thought it was about time I did so!

Why is titled 'Full Spectrum Vol.1', you probably aren't asking. Well, I'll tell you anyway. Since I've got my Synthsonic Sessions series for all my trance mixes, and my Abstrakt Ambience mixes for the more eclectic electronica I listen to, I felt it was time to have a series for this style which I still play and like, the techno & house in the 120-130bpm range. Simple. These mixes will come along as and when I have the tracks to create them.

This is an 80 minute journey of the styles and sounds I'd want to hear if I was attending Space in Ibiza. 

The first half of the mix is more housey, tracks I'd want to hear in the terrace, with plenty of nods to the old school piano house sound I grew up hearing when I was a kid. Its great to see some 90's nostalgia shining through in 2015.

The second half of the mix goes into deeper, darker and driving techno territory, the music I'd want to hear at 5am in the Space main room.

The full track list is forthcoming, but for now expect tracks from: Steve Lawler, Dusky, Adam Beyer, Slam, Jel Ford, Spektre, Pan-Pot and many more.

Over Christmas 2014 I needed a break from recording
my album, searching online for a song I recalled from
my youth, I fell into a rabbit hole of thousands of
YouTube playlists and posts, rediscovering the songs
my friends and I would gather and listen to as
13 & 14 yr olds every Saturday in East Berlin on Radio DT64
(now Berlin's Radio Fritz).

I stumbled back to the future, collecting over 5000 songs
on YouTube, learning for the first time the artists behind
the songs we heard almost 25 years ago.

The forthcoming trilogy is the result of 18 month
of building edits from YouTube recordings and stitching
them together off-line. I could not include every song,
nor indeed even the entire tracks from this small period
until 1993, so this is my personal history of electronic
music arriving in Berlin.

This trilogy will not be sold, it was a labor of love,
born of nostalgia and made for sharing.

I started working in a club in 1996 as a 'light jockey' (controlling the lights). It was a natural progression to working behind the decks. Initially concentrating learning how to mix on Technics 1210s and Denon Professional CD decks, I was rewarded with mixing CD only tracks for a number of the DJs at the club, who preferred not to use what was a new technology.  Over time, I started DJing under 18s nights, parties, and then regular Saturday nights to 600 clubbers.  Loving music for as long as I can remember, and having a natural ability to program a set, fully competent and confident using a microphone, I believe it is what is played that count, the ability to work a crowd, knowing the context, and read the reaction of the dance floor.  These are some demos.
