UPDATE VERSION OF MENTAL ABUSE PRODUCTION

While in pandemic isolation, the voices in Rich Vysion’s head spilled over from a mentally abusive professional relationship and became unbearable. During that time, the Bronx-born, Brooklyn-based rapper wasn’t familiar with the warning signs of narcissistic personality disorder and gaslighting. The onslaught of toxic behaviors directed his way by a mentor pushed him to the brink of suicide.  In reaching out for help he realized there is a stigma surrounding mental health struggles.

End The Stigma

Your tongue was like a murder weapon never concealed

When you questioned my text / I held The coldest regret 
Couldn't look into your eyes /  my life ain't russian roulette 
Knew it was time to rip the narrative that I rehearsed
The still voice inside me reminded me I'm still enough

No longer bitter/ my abuse became their lifeline 
Handled abuse with the utmost grace 
 Cuz Les Brown said if I didn't it would remain in my face 

Now I envision a greater tomorrow
No longer enslaved by your words / cus I finally let you go 
I am deserving of inner healing tonight 
I've accepted the mental abuse that you imposed upon me but now I'm taking back my life

But it's not ok to tolerate mental abuse
