Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two label fires back into action this Spring, with a mouthwatering collaboration between the label head honcho, and Jamie Jones, who needs no introduction.  The release comes backed with remixes from house music stalwarts, Butch, and Ray Mono.

With a friendship and professional relationship that goes back years, Richy Ahmed and Jamie Jones have often paired up and sparred with each other, via ping pong-ing releases on the Hot Creations label, B2B DJ sets in Ibiza and beyond, to studio collaborations.  Incredibly, these brace of tracks are the first officially released ‘fruits of their labour’ when it comes to their joint productions, and it’s most definitely worth the wait.

Entering stage left, ‘More Energy’ comes at a time when we’ve never needed it more; a rattling and spirited house groove and a playful organ riff lay the foundations for this industrious track, as the spoken refrains (from Richy Ahmed no less) comes as a call to arms and sealing off this bright and good times club cut.  Likewise, energy levels are maintained on ‘I Need It’; banging house piano chops over an diligent 909 drum pattern, laced with rousing strings and female vox, it’s the sort of track that two seasoned pros like Ahmed & Jones are so good out carving out.

Two remixes of ‘I Need It’ are offered up here.  Butch (Running Back/Hot Creations) serves up a seductive and breezy percussive version, featuring the kind of floating deepness that perfectly soundtracks sunsets and sunrises, whilst rising UK talent,  Ray Mono, functions a groovy and swinging minimal remix that echoes the sweet sounds he’s been delivering for labels like Ben Rau’s META imprint and Deeperfect Records.

An all-star cast tastefully assembled then for another stellar release on Four Thirty Two.

Luca Cazal & Josh Baker kickstart Richy Ahmed’s new vinyl focused imprint, Back 2 Black, with a brace of intergalactic tracks.  The new label’s first release also features a remix from British electronic stalwart, Radioactive Man.

Cazal remains a central figure within the house & techno community; his DJ residency at Circoloco is longstanding and releases for labels like Crosstown Rebels, Classic Music Company, his own See Double label, and Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two imprint have marked out his production prowess and ear for a good groove.  Josh Baker has been rising up the ranks over the last few years, with releases for Ben Rau’s META label, Locus and his own You&Me label.

On ‘Organ Nuke’, Cazal & Baker dip into the kind of spacey techno house that was forged by Detroit pioneers Underground Resistance, as funky percussion and organ stabs are coupled with dreamy pads and cosmic tones.  ‘Rocket Ship’ continues these themes, with heavy 909 drums anchoring a cheeky acid bassline and flashes of cosmogonic sound.

British DJ & producer, Radioactive Man, has long since been at the coalface of electronic music’s leftfield.  As one half of Two Lone Swordsman (with the late, great Andrew Weatherall), and multiple aliases for his industrious flow of releases, the revered producer injects a heavy dose of classy electro and Drexciyan vibes into ‘Rocket Ship’.  Rolling breaks unfurl in the electro beats as head scrambling keys and rasping bass stimulate the senses for a funkin’ body poppin’ workout.

Armed with a pair of Pioneer CDJ 2000’s and function1 speakers, with a backset of sun, sea and sand, Newcastle born Richy Ahmed kicked off Boiler Rooms 'Jamie Jones presents Paradise' Ibiza villa takeovers with a chilled out house mix, perfect for the beautiful coastal Ibiza setting. 

Richy has rapidly risen to the forefront of the scene this year, being a resident at Paradise and being part of Hot Creations inner circle, Richy has been playing out at infamous clubs and huge dance music festivals across the globe and is regularly tipped as one to watch by the likes of Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Clive Henry and Seth Troxler.
The mix focuses around the fresh underground house sounds of 2013 featuring ‘Legendary’ from Cassio Kohl, Dubspeeker’s  ‘My World’ and Lake People – ‘Point in time’.  Finishing off on the setting of the sun with Jacob Korn’s ‘You & me’ (with break sl feat. tabitha xavier) Richy sets the perfect scene for Jamie Jones & Dyed Soundorom who keep things rolling.

Firmly establishing himself as one of Manchester’s hottest up and coming artists over recent years, Elléot debuts for Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two label with ‘The Mask’ EP.  A collaboration with Andrey Djackonda, and a remix from Archie Hamilton, seals this prodigious release.

With a strong set of releases already behind him, for labels such as Do Not Sleep, Nervous Records and Sustain, Elléot parades his musical chops for Ahmed’s label, which has delivered recent musical dispatches from the likes of Eldon, Jamie Jones & Richy Ahmed, Jansons and LoveHrtz.

A stong jazz-funk influence is stamped all over ‘The Mask’, as muted horns and an infectiously funky bass build the foundations of this four to the floor house bomb, topped off with a vibey vocal topline!  Having built up an impressive career to date via a relentless DJ schedule, a residency at London’s popular FUSE parties and releases on his own Moscow and Moss Co. labels, Archie Hamilton turns in a superb remix of ‘The Mask’.  Rolling beats sets the tone for his ‘Just A Phase’ Mix, as epic chord progressions, space age acid tones, and a groove that Mood II Swing would be proud of, induce a first-class remix from the well-seasoned producer. 

A collaboration with Andrey Djackonda (AVOTRE/Conceptual) also bears similar traits, as jazzy keys, a bustling bassline and brass licks bind together with a syrupy vocal for the uplifting garage house of ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, whilst ‘Follow Me’ concludes this assured EP with a jostling party track, resplendent with hand claps, lively drums and another contagious and soulful vocal.

The essential mix has been an integral part of my raving culture.  When I first got into dance music we didn’t have the internet then and good music wasn’t easily accessible, and so the essential mix was my main avenue to keep my finger on the pulse on new music. 

One of the mixes that always sticks in my mind is the Cassius mix from 1999- I listen to it now and it still sounds amazing. It was the soundtrack to lots of amazing parties back in the day, the day before I even dreamt about being a DJ.

The thought of me actually doing an essential mix now, considering I’ve been listening for the last 15 years, for a kid like me it doesn’t get any better than this.

 P.S Even the lads back in South Shields think this is impressive!

Welcome summer! So welcome to a new Wow!, N.62.

Here we are to present a “Remix release” from German Brigante! No Original Mix, only remixes! Inside we can find two remixes! 
 
First version is made from one of the best artists of the moment, top DJ of the British house music. 

Please welcome Richy Ahmed. 

He’s one of the heads behind the big label Hot Creations,  steadily searching new vibes and fresh grooves, taking inspiration from disco, techno, funk, electro and hip-hop.

Groove and nature are the words of this release, and Richy perfectly connected these things, making an amazing result with his version! After a few seconds of listening perfectly understand that this track will be a killer tune! The voice begins early, and it grows up with a pounding filtered drum together with a classical techno chord that catch you completely off guard. The dark relentless bass line accompanies all the track into a “wild” moment of the night! It's totally sure that this track is created to do damage to dance floors worldwide. Annie Mac already played it as Exclusive Track on her BBC Radio 1 show! 
 
The second mix was prepared by the homie Luca Donzelli! Summer is already with us, and he decided to re-work the original track in a more happy and house way! We can feel perfectly his touch, passing trough heavy bass line, lot of synths taken and re-worked from the original track, with pure energy! First part of the track goes up till the first breakdown, with a very long old house square sound, that makes a good “re-start” with only kick, bass line, and really high detailed woody background! The looped voice, together with a pad, makes a a warm mid part of the track until the last breakdown, where a short synth organized in a phased melody makes a huge energy, before the track ends.
 
We are really proud to present this special release that has so big material for this summer! Both tracks surely, will entry directly in your sets, from techno to house and tech-house! 
 
Listen carefully, play them and spread their energy!

Philadelphia-based DJ and producer, Jay Hill, brings her soulful touch to Emerald City with I Am Here, featuring vocals from the incredible South African slam-poet Lazarusman. UK powerhouse Richy Ahmed completes the package with a weighty remix. 

Hearing Lazarusman’s poems online, Jay Hill was inspired to take two of his works and create a beautiful story. “I envisioned the final outcome to be a feel good, deep tech track and worked with a lot of percussions to add colour intrigue" she explains. Of his lyrics, Lazarusman clarifies that the line “do you remember me?” refers to “when we meet or interact with someone on a deep, spiritual level it might mean that we've possible met before in another life”. 

The EP opens with the original cut of I Am Here. The thudding kick drum is juxtaposed against a warm, woozy bassline as Lazarusman’s catchy vocal hook echoes throughout. It’s dreamy yet assured, making it perfect dance floor fodder. On his reimagining of the track, Richy Ahmed litters it with percussion and adds a pounding bassline to create that definitive after-hours number. 

Jay Hill is steadily forging a solid reputation for herself in the industry. Her DJ sets show her innate ability to transcend genres and captivate dance floors. She’s had releases on New York’s vinyl-only label Local Raider, FM Elle, and Mr C’s Superfreq imprint. South-African poet, Lazarusman, has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including Florian Kruse, Martin Stimming and Alex Dimou and has released music on highly regarded labels including Gruuv, Stil Vor Talent, Get Physical and Rebellion. One of the key members of the Hot Creations family, Richy Ahmed has also had releases on Strictly Rhythm as well as his own label, Four Thirty Two. His prolific DJ sets have earned him a place in Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs three years in a row.
