This ballad like waltz solo recording of Lithe Flamingo has more recently morphed into a medium tempo Jazz Trio feature titled Circle. There are two versions of the original waltz I'll call this Lithe Flamingo No 1

An alternative version of this lovely number by Sam Rivers that we did in a straight quaver (eighth notes ) feel with the original On It Trio that we performed and did some domestic recordings with.

This much loved standard by Michelle Legrand heard here as a domestic recording with the first piano trio we formed when I returned from living overseas. Rob Mahoney is on bass and Corey Mills on drums.

A performing musician in much demand as  a piano accompanist comfortable in both jazz and classical music styles.  He. had held many residencies and led bands in Australia and oversea. 

Recently recording in the jazz idiom in either trio or quartet form and sharing to SoundCloud. 

Rick teaches piano, clarinet and saxophone and doubles on the latter  two. 

When not teaching at school or being  the accompanist for De La Salle College or the Athenaeum Choir he is performing at jazz venues both here and soon at a new jazz club venture in Vietnam. 

He is frequently collaborating with some of Melbourne’s leading classical exponents of Lieder and more.
