This is an original midi composition I made back in 1999!  It took me 4 months to get this sounding the way I wanted it to.  The end part was the hardest because I slowed it down and then had to speed it up and make it sound the same speed as the rest of the song.  Being a self taught musician, this was no easy feat and I failed many times.

This midi file was played back by XMplay with Ian Luck’s XM-Midi addon, using the Bass midi library.  I recorded the song in 16-Bit, 48000 quality with my Presonus 16.0.2 Digital mixer with Audacity for Windows, then exported the file to .wav format.

Jackhammer (feat. OmegaGMGS2 soundfont 4.2)

Made using Presonus Studio v3, with the Korg KROSS2 recorded directly into my Steinberg UR44 audio interface.  Final mixing was completed in Audacity.  The final song is 24-Bit, 48000Hz quality and was recorded with OGG Vorbis maximum quality

Made using my new Korg KROSS2 keyboard in two days, just for fun.   This song has 7 tracks (one being the drum track) and uses various combis and programs built into the KROSS2.

Recorded with Mixcraft 8 64-bit.  

The buzzing in the beginning was me forgetting to turn off the microphone channel on my Scarlett interface, so what you are basically hearing is amplified noise.  D'oh! (smacks head).  Thankfully you can only hear it at the beginning before the song starts.

Last Chance

Masaaki Kawai (Falcom Sound Team J.D.K.)composed this track.  It has other versions (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Turbo-Grafx 16 CD-ROM), but this is by far the best version of the song.  Masaaki Kawai is amazing, the solo is one of the most insane I have heard and shows how much musical talent he has!  It starts out simple and builds into the solo, check it out!    Too bad the Sharp X68000 was only available in Japan, it has the most accurate ports of games from it's generation and has basically a more powerful version of the Yamaha sound chip inside of the Sega Genesis/Megadrive.  It could also use the Roland MT32 and Roland Sound Canvas to play certain games.  

I am not the original owner of this song or track, just recorded it and shared it for those who like it, and those who have never heard it.

The other versions (Genesis, PC-88, Super Nintendo, etc.) does have this song, but none of them have the same insane solo.  The Super Nintendo version, while good in it's own way, has a solo that is not even close and the Sega Genesis version is lacking instruments and just cannot even get close to comparing, it does have the insane solo but it sounds more like circus music.  The Turbo Grafix 16 CD-ROM version, sadly, does not have this particular track (I cannot even imagine a CD-quality version of this!).  

Ys3: The Oath Of Felghana for PC does have The Theme Of Chester, CD-quality and definitely awesome, but my favorite by far is the Sharp X68000 version.   Enjoy!

Hypnoticism

Located 550 light years away, Antares is a red supergiant star that is 11,000 times more luminous than Sol, our sun.  It has a radius of 300 million kilometres; so if it was placed where our sun is, Earth would be deep inside of it and it would extend well past the orbit of Mars.  

You can see Antares in the summer sky, look directly East and then track towards the South and find the brightest star that appears red.   You are now looking at the Heart Of The Scorpion (Alpha Scorpius)

Antares (Heart Of The Scorpion)

Antares (The Heart Of The Scorpion)

One of my favorite movies of all time, with one of the coolest concept cars that ever came out!  The soundtrack of this movie is also awesome, evidenced by how great this song is.

Fun fact:  The Turbo Interceptor featured in this movie was not just a movie prop!  The Dodge M4S was a mid-engined car that had a tested and confirmed top speed of 194.8 mph and could go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, with more than 440 hp under the hood coming from its relatively small displacement of 2.2L 4 cylinder forced induction engine.  Crazier still, this car came out in 1984, yet looks like it could easily hang with (and outrun) most modern cars!  In fact, it was so powerful that it nearly killed the stunt driver in the movie!  It pioneered the twin turbo setups later used by Porsche and the Toyota Supra.

Hello everyone and thank you for visiting my profile.  I have grown up and lived in Chicago Heights since 1984, when I was 6 years old.  I am now 42 years old.

I fell in love with synthesizers when I was a kid and started making music in 1995 with a Roland XP-50 Workstation.  Since then, I have had various Korg, Roland, and Alesis synths and still own a few sound modules (Korg NS5R, Roland SC-D70).    I have two kids; Elise born November 9, 2016 and David born April 5, 2019.
