This is a great song from Eddie Vedder's ukulele album. Learned it in a couple of hours for someone very special (pictured).

My band The Bleeping Bleeps has a new guitarist. While our drummer is out of town, myself, the bass player and the new guitarist got together and ran through some songs. I really like how this one came out stripped down with no drums. Pretty sweet.

We played around with it for a few minutes and that was it...until last night. I pressed record on my iPhone and this is what we got - it's not mixed in any way, so apologies for the roughness, but I think it's going to ROCK at our next live show.

This is a first collaboration with my friend Ron Johnson. He had a song with music, but no lyrics, so I took the song for a few days and we ended up with "Relentless".

There's nothing personal about the lyrics. Ron had mentioned that the music sounded like a guy lusting after a girl, so I put a little spin on it - the guy in this song IS lusting after the girl, but he's blaming HER for it.

I heard the original guitar version from Pearl Jam recently and thought that it might make for a more upbeat song with an ukulele. This is NOT a highly produced file - it was recorded in one take on my iPhone. But I kinda like non-slick recordings of myself. A little more raw and even has mistakes in it...as if we're sitting around a campfire on the beach in Santa Cruz.

Just Breathe

Country music isn't really my thing, but a friend of mine sent me a poem she wrote and I thought it'd make a good country song. I wrote guitar for it, wrote a few new lyrics and arranged it into a song. My daughter Kelsey came over and did the lead vocal. Considering it went from a poem to a recorded song in 24 hours, I'm pretty happy with it.
