Funny the way music twists, turns, connects, and evolves, comparable to life and friendships. After many years of not visiting Montreal I found myself right back in a place surrounded by new friends and old. This is where we met Ziad and ever since we stayed in touch. 

Always sharing music Ziad passed along a podcast of Quentin (@Mareopaq). I was more than impressed really. When I showed Gab he told me he’s known Quentin for some time now,. They met a few years back and instantly connected due to their shared musical vision - meeting the @opaq-freq crew. 

When Quentin and Steve Marie created OPAQ they told themselves, and still do, we need to express fully, bring people to places they don’t expect, shock them. To make one feel something, even if that feeling is uncomfortable, anger, joy, warmth, that is their vision.

In the podcast the music is something evocative, it's mostly old but sounds new at the same time, and often the message is still relevant, a revolution of sorts. Keep your mind open, ears listening and the enjoy the r.a.v.e.

In 2016 the Bikini Waxx Records crew was blessed to have been invited to play for Hypnotic Mindscapes in Toronto (along Soundstream) and The Hive in Montreal.
It turned out to be an enriching and unforgettable experience beyond expectations. From the pick up at the airport up until leaving again we got to know so many open-minded & kind-hearted people –befriended, as well as uber-friendly randomers- , thoroughly enjoyed culture, parties at wicked spaces (The Hive ❤ never forget) & culinary scenes of these amazing cities and spend nothing but quality time.
Including the moment @cosmicjd introduced me to the piece of heaven they call ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’.

This Mix contains only Canadian music, old & new, Canadian artists and/or labels. Some of the records are from artists I got to know along the trip, some were bought at Canadian record shops (Big up to ‘Play De Record’ & ‘Cosmos Records’, Toronto and ‘Death of Vinyl’ , Montreal).
Its obvious to mention how much more music there is coming out of this country and how much I even had to leave out. Though I tried to keep it short.

Here’s to the Country of legal herbs, Ice cream sandwiches and seemingly successful integration politics. And Maple Syrup, sure. Keep it up Canada. Thanks for being so nice to us. 🍁

In the past, being heard as KIM he used to perform together with Dmitry Zharkikh. 
In 2018, after a hiatus of three years, he got back in the game launching the label "Kultura Zvuka" and releasing a split with Bodin & Jacob "Trulla" EP on his native Tvir. 

At this stage, writes music and runs Trance Pandemic label together with Eugene Kurilo. In addition to producing, he also did bookings at Kultura Zvuka Studiya and Yama party series in Kharkiv.
