R.A.D Mix #1: Bintus - DJ Mix

This is a live recording, captured at Ego club in Düsseldorf, June 5 1999.  The music has been created with a self written step sequencer, the PX-18, controlling  a basic sample player and effects engine, all done in MaxMSP, running on a Powerbook G3. The step sequencer had some unique features, e.g. the ability to switch patterns independently in each track, which later became an important part of a certain music software.

I found the recording on a backup disk today. It has not been edited or mastered. During the first 20 minutes of the set, and before the 'encore' the Monolake CD 'Gobi' is playing in the background.

IN TWO DECADES of Israel's club history, Anna Haleta and her "partner in crime" Tsaji Soussana have left their own, unmistakable stamp on the Electronic Music Scene in their home country as well as in their hometown of Tel Aviv/Jaffa. They have always remained completely true to their own underground attitude when it comes to Techno, Electro, and House. And it may not be surprising that since November 13, 2011, almost all of the important international protagonists have been on the decks for Pacotek. TLV, like insider tips from the scene.

The UNDER THE RADAR podcast sets, which will be broadcast on the occasion of the 20th anniversary, reflect the entire range of Pacotek. sound facets from Techno, Acid to Electro/Hi-Tech Funk and even House. Mike Schommer [Detroit] is acknowledged and highly regarded as one of the key producers behind the development of Dub Techno of the last 25 years, mostly notably for his partnership with Rod Modell as Deepchord until 2002. The DC series remains essential and prized artefacts for dub techno followers and record collectors. 

Mike returned after a break to focus on solo projects but also collaborates with other techno luminaries such as Steve O’Sullivan and recently foreged a mellifluous partnership with vocalist Milly James.

Ahead of his European tour in Berlin (Tresor) and debut live show in the UK, Manchester (Dub Explorations), this Verdant Session attempts to present the sounds and styles of Mike’s music. 

Featuring releases as Deepchord, Von Schommer, Lux, Techniker & Mike Schommer. 

MS remixes of Octal Industries, Vann Bonn & Upwellings & Fletcher.
