Clowny you stood out like a sore thumb, clowny

I have a theory, your parents hated you
Your eyes are teary, its just a theory
Don't be a sad clown, try to relevant 
Don't be a bad clown, stay away from children

In high school it was my school
I met you, took you under my wing
Your white face, your lipstick messy
I rented you out at parties

But you grew wary of your station in life
You wanted a car
You wanted a wife
But those weren't the cards you were dealt
You weren't a Monet, you're an Elvis on felt

In college they filled you with knowledge
And led you to think and led you to drink
Thinking you actually had a chance
Of possibly escaping the moves of your dance

But it was not to be, sorry Clowny
You are who you are and we do as we're told
Sorry, but really I'm not sorry

You got a bit bitter, I guess that's expected
You can't be a quitter, but those walls you erected
Will crumple and then what's to be done

you're welcome here, here your are loved
with open arms in a closed off world
here it is safe to give all up
identity is being part of our pod

all hail the benefactor 
teaching a life of selflessness
all hail the benefactor 
gaining by day his supplicants

no need for sense of self
no need for personal wealth
one's duty to a bigger cause
to forfeit a life garners big applause

wake up at 4:00 AM, rehearse the master's plan
pod sings the sacred song, march off to their last stand
assemble at the subway platforms
hug each other, put on their masks
release the sarin and lock the gates
make sure the crowds can't escape

doing his work is but a test
for worthiness and to ascend 
getting to heaven is hard work
not getting caught a fateful quirk

important to understand and quirks of fate
not being irrelevant, more work on their plate
cult plus time makes religions great
