Kai Alcé is a boundary-transcending artist who channels his diverse experiences into fostering an inclusive musical environment. Born in New York, he was influenced early on by soca, Caribbean rhythms, and jazz. Moving to Detroit in 1980, he witnessed the birth of techno and worked at the iconic Music Institute nightclub. Relocating to Atlanta, Kai brought authentic house and techno to the city, including a decade-long residency at MJQ. His first production, ‘The Kaizer EP,’ was released in 2002, followed by the founding of the House In The Park event and his label NDATL in 2008, showcasing artists like Larry Heard, Theo Parrish, and Mike Huckaby.

Not only has Nick been a loyal friend of our shop in the years we have been open, he has also been one of the driving forces behind the London scene for nearly 30 years. Dealing records professionally to some of the biggest DJs in the world over the years as well as running several labels including his most recent outing Natural House - his knowledge in disco and house is impecible. He has displayed this in his vast deeply thought out sets over the years be it performing the closing set at some of Japan's best underground festivals or at his long running night Tangent with friend John Gomez, he is a definition of a digger. We had a chat with Nick about the mix and what he has coming up, even if we had to hold his flight to Japan for a couple of minutes!

It's rare to see these events take place in Ireland, but when they do, it's absolute magic. Massive thanks to Pablo (Fatty Fatty Phonographics) for inviting me to play and putting together such an incredible atmosphere. Can't wait to attend this again next year.

Honoured to share this live mix of one of New Jersey, New York‘s finest DJs Nick Jones. The Nick Jones experience was the first release on Massive B recordings, Bobby Konders classic New York, deep house label. Nick Jones is of from the Tee Scott, Larry Levan, David Mancsuo school of playing music as well as early family musical experiences and his close friend and mentor  DJ Leroy Washington (Studio 54) and who was also close friends with Larry Levan. Nick was a regular DJ throughout the 90s for parties such as House Nation, Wild Pitch, Lovelite, and many more

This live mix is a short but amazing segment from one of Nick‘s long sets recorded at the legendary Club Yellow in japan and was kindly given to me by Nick, himself.

Standing strong through 4 decades of music, we welcomed his É Soul Cultura takeover for a 6 hour session at The Bowl.

Co founder of the iconic UK club Electric Chair and founder of Manchester's much loved and long standing queer party, Homoelectric, alongside his label and event series E Soul Cultura, Luke has consistently remained at the forefront of a young dynamic forward thinking scene.

From  the momentous legacy of Sheffield and Manchesters musical heritage through the 80s and 90s Luke reworked 4 decades of dance through a distinctive futuristic lens into an alchemy that traverses from  spiritual jazz, slo mo chugging cosmic soul, Balearic Bossa to dance floor astral Jazz dance to the deepest House and Techno and bass buggin futurism, Afro and black heart deep Disco.

A true musical legend with no boundaries. Listen back to his takeover.
