“This DJ Mix includes my new release ‘Human Life’ out now on Yoshitoshi Records. It features vocals by rising talent Jinadu who recently won a Grammy. I actually chose to play the Eran Hersh remix of my original track, here as the opening tune for the DJ set. The session is composed of a blend of deep house, indie dance, melodic techno, and more. I don’t like to be stuck in one genre. Most of those tunes I play regularly in my sets here in Paris, there are also a couple of bootlegs like the one I close my mix with, I’ll let you play it to find out what it is, it’s a very effective tune for the closing, quite emotional :)”

Cedric Benoit est un ancien résident du Rex Club à Paris. C'est la qu'il rencontre le co-fondateur de Au Fil Du Son (rico aka wolf Story). Ensemble ils se produisent au coté de nombreux Djs au Rex mais aussi à Avignon.

Monsieur et Madame Benoit est donc un tandem venu d’Avignon.
Leurs dj sets captent tous les sons et repoussent sans cesse les limites, alliant house, vocaux décalés, acid house ou encore techno.
Ils se produisent à travers la France et l’Europe, mais aussi à l’étranger, notamment à Santa Teresa (Costa Rica) où ils officient les pieds dans le sable.

Our buddy Emric aka Wolf Stroy did a smash debut on HMWL in 2021 with the afro house cut Berilla feat Mabiisi. It's still his top one Spotify track two years later. We caught up with Wolf Story in Tokyo where he played the iconic Oath venue.

Oath is a small club in Shibuya -Tokyo's most famous neihbourhood, an intimate club. The kind of club where people actually talk to each other. It was the first club I visited in Japan 2 years ago. It features dozens of chandeliers, which gives a really unique feel inside the venue. Akira, manager at Oath confirmed my last gig of my Asian tour in dec 2023. I enjoyed playing a two-hour set that night, great way to conclude a busy schedule in Korea & Japan. If you want to try the ultimate experience in Shibuya, you have to taste Habushu, a liquior from Okinawa with a snake in it...this will wake up a dead man ! Supposingly it is also used as medecine...

HMWL Podcast 371 - Wolf Story Live @ Oath Tokyo

Paris born, Miami based RICO takes his French touch to the U.S. and gets great talents involved. “This is our best release so far because it defines our record label, we don’t want to be stuck only in one genre!”

RICO started to DJ in the late 90's with his friend Popof in France. In 2004, he created Oxygen Records, which featured the first Drum'n Bass song with French lyrics, label supported by Laurent Garnier. 10 years later, Rico launches his new project: BIMINI RECORDS. “We wanted to bring something new and give a chance to a few very talented artists as well!”

“I am very proud of this release, with his remix, Denver takes the Tech-house road, while XPANS goes old school with Chicago House and Dubelu seals it with a dark deep house vibe. In regards to my original song, I’ll let you judge for yourself!"

B-side features the song KATIE, a Deep house hit with a groovy bass line and out there synths, the catchy female vocals and pads invite you to a musical journey you won't forget.

In Paris, Rico performed regularly with the Freestylers at Rex club. The venue where a French duo by the name of Daft Punk performed live on a regular basis.

“I've always liked to go different directions, Matt Cantor aka The Freestylers is a true inspiration not only because of his presence on stage, but also with his selection, you never know what he is going to play next. I think that’s what a great DJ is about, finding the right balance between playing that song everyone is dying to hear again and that song nobody has heard before...”
