‘Solid’ is a cover song, coming from the original track, ‘Solid’ by husband and wife singers and song writers Ashford and Simpson. Blouw Wow has added a new and refreshing arrangement to the track in the Reggae/ Dancehall genres. The remake unearths a new relevance to the popular 80’s hit. Like the original track, the cover speaks to a couple who has managed to stay together despite the challenges experienced in their relationships, by being forgiving and trusting, thus creating a love that is ‘solid’ and unshakeable. Although the lyrics vary significantly from that of the original, the nature of the song remains the same. Blouw Wow makes a bold statement with witty anecdotes and an apt delivery of mixed genres complimented by a distinct crisp bass-line and production of the classic in contemporary style.
