'Variations of Sun' is the result of a chance meeting between hotly tipped indie pop duo, From Kid and French house producer, Freak You. Falling instantly in love with From Kid's debut single, 'Sun', Freak You immediately signed the boys to his very own imprint, On The Fruit Records and put together a stellar package of five stunning remixes from a clutch of established and new talent that looks set to fill the Christmas music stockings this December.

On The Fruit Records has adhered to a strict ethos of discovering new talent and giving quality acts a push, bucking the trend of going with what's in flavour in favour of what is good and forward thinking. The remixes come courtesy of Toronto based electronic duo, Natural Animal, Freak You himself, Brooklyn's Tigers On A Leash owner, Lou Teti, disco synth trio, Ride The Universe and blog favourite, PWNDTIAC.

'Variations of Sun' will be released 16 December 2013 via On The Fruit Records.

New original music is on the way – but – in the meanwhile we did this little edit of B. B. & Q. Band - On The Beat. It's such a classic that we didn't want to do too much. So aside from editing the structure and speeding it up, we just played in the bassline to thicken it up and added effects. Hope you enjoy the free download!

Belle & Sebastian – The Party Line (Ride The Universe Remix)

Around our studio in Los Angeles, it's really easy to run into interesting characters.  None of which was more interesting/inspiring as a man we ran into that went by the name "Blackbird".  Blackbird had been living out of his car for the past 5 months.  He seemed to struggle finding a job and coping with his vices.  After chatting for a bit, we said our good byes and that was that.  Four months later we saw Blackbird on the street again.  He was sitting on the stoop of a local comic shop smiling as he saw us walk up.  Things have been going well for Blackbird.  He found a job, and even a room to rent around the corner.  This song was inspired by Blackbird.  Its a song of empowerment.  Its a song of hope.  Its a song that will hopefully inspire you in your everyday endeavors.
