O "Rieg Live Sessions" foi gravado no final de novembro de 2015 no BBS Studio em parceria com o Pittanga Estúdio Criativo. Essa sessão traz um novo formato de show ao vivo do trio de trip-hop da Rieg, tocando versões inéditas das músicas do seu EP "I Don't Know" pela primeira e única vez, no espaço de criação da banda.

Entre dias de sol ardente, uma banda chamada Rieg contradiz a regra e se une para liberar o medo, os monstros e transtornos em um som dissecado pelo trip-hop, o pop experimental e desnudado em movimento histriônico. Formada por Between2d (vocal- sampler - synth), Jesi (baixo) e Nildo Gonzales (bateria), A experiência e os diferentes backgrounds desses músicos intensificam a complexidade do som e das letras compostas em Inglês, Alemão e Português pelo vocalista alemão-norte-americano.

Enquanto acontecem os ajustes finais do primeiro disco de Rieg, intitulado 12:00, o grupo paraibano se prepara para lançar mais uma parte da jornada proposta pelo álbum conceitual, através do EP Leave It To Me.

O encontro do trip-hop e pop experimental de Rieg cria a ambiência soturna da história por trás de 12:00. O álbum descortina para um garoto a verdade em relação ao seu falecido pai após encontrar no porão de sua casa fitas VHS escondidas. Cada faixa representa uma cena dos filmes registrados nas fitas, revelando a falência psicológica de seu pai e detalhes a respeito da companhia Terrible Inc.

Em Leave It To Me, o terceiro de quatro EPs, que irão compor a narrativa do CD, são apresentadas três novas faixas. A música que dá título ao EP retrata da libertação das correntes do protagonista do passado obscuro e sombrio do pai. A próxima faixa ‘Gorgon’, conta justamente o oposto:  é a pressão da depressão causada pela passividade do nosso passado e pela convivência familiar doentio, que acomete o filho. Por fim, ‘Terrible Inc’ representa “o mal” da história: é a empresa oculta que provoca angustia e medo no protagonista através de mensagens subliminares encontradas na coleção de VHS do pai falecido. 

O EP Leave It To Me será lançado em parceira com o selo Lofi In High e foi gravado no estúdio Mutuca, mixado por Ruy José e pela própria banda, masterizado por Arthur Joly do Reco-Head, e a arte da capa do EP é assinada pela artista plástica e tatuadora A N E // S. Simultaneamente, é lançado o clipe de ‘Leave It To Me’, dirigido por Rieg Rodig, o vocalista do grupo e produzido foi pelo BBS Studios. As músicas do EP estarão no álbum “12:00”, ainda sem data para lançamento oficial, que conta com referências de trip-hop, neo-soul e rock experimental.

Brazilian band “Rieg” releases a new EP that mixes experimental synth pop with neosoul

Leave It To Me
While the final adjustments are being made on Rieg’s debut album, entitled “12:00”, the Brazilian group is set to release their “Leave It To Me EP” as another part of the narrative proposed by the future concept album.

By mixing trip-hop and experimental pop, Rieg creates the eerie ambience of the story behind 12:00. The album is about a boy who finds out the truth about his deceased father after finding his hidden VHS tapes in his basement. Each song represents a scene from the movies recorded on the tapes, revealing the psychological collapse of his father and details about the Terrible Company Inc.

In Leave It To Me, the third of four EPs that will complete the album’s narrative, three new tracks are released. The song that lends its name in the title of the EP describes the protagonist's liberation from the chains of his father’s dark and gloomy past. The next track 'Gorgon', depicts the opposite: it is the pressure felt by depression caused by the passivity we put on ourselves due to our past and the unhealthy family life, which affects the protagonist. Finally, 'Terrible Inc' is "villain" of the story: its the occult company that causes anxiety and fear within the protagonist through subliminal messages found in the father’s VHS collection.

The Histrionic

Rieg is a trip-hop trio that is strongly influenced by experimental rock and interacts with audiovisual media. Premiering at the 2010 Mundo Festival, Rieg consists of the German-American Rieg (vocal- sampler - Synth) and Brazilians Jesi (bass) and Nildo Gonzalez (drums). The band has toured and performed in much of Brazil, and has played at large music festivals such as Mundo (PB), Grito Rock (PE), Dia Da Musica (SP), Uivo (SP / EP), Fete De La Musique and Transpira (PI), playing content of their EPs the Histrionic (2011), Fiver (2013), I Don 't Know (2015) and Leave It To Me (2016).
