Live recording of Riflefeet playing 1:30am-2:30am on Friday night at the 14th anniversary of Thought Society's spring campout End Means Beginning. 

Starting off in 145 bangers, the tempo quickly shifts to 160 bpm psychedlic drum tech blended with mental techno/tribe and technical jungle/idm.  The tempo shifts again up to 180 then 200bpm with dark psy and breakcore blends leading to a conclusion of 180 bpm euphoric chopped jungle amens.

Riflefeet (Ripley) is a SF Bay Area electronic music producer and DJ. As an active resident Performer and management team of DEFSF, Founder/Creative Director/Resident performer of Thought Society, Co-Founder and former Promotions Director of Outlet, Riflefeet is deeply entrenched within the underground electronic music community within Northern California.  With over 10 years of underground event production they are established as a leader in forward thinking music known for relentlessly releasing original music and DJ mixes in a wide range of styles and hosting cutting edge events throughout the west coast.  

Riflefeet was a world music performance major at Calarts and studied North Indian Classical, Ghanian drumming and dance, Balinese and Javanese Gamelan including intense study of American minimalist music of the 60’s (Reich, Cage, etc) and deep listening experiments of Pauline Oliveros.  This diverse set of influences is what informs their musical persona which is heavily infused with polyrhythm and intriguing combinations of aesthetics.  Riflefeet's productions range from moody hypnotic meditations to driving nose-bleeding  bangers to jagged percussive workouts all designed to put the speaker stacks through their paces. Frequently found up front and center with the dancefloor crew at techno parties and raves throughout the bay, they have built a strong sensibility for the current state of modern techno, jungle, and beyond to keep the dancefloor vibing past dawn.

Whether you find Riflefeet in a warehouse, in the woods, on a mountain tops, deserts, or commanding the club, they are always pushing the horizon forward with DJ selections and original tunes which ride along the frontiers of known genres into the realm of entirely new styles created through dynamic blending techniques and live pa elements.  With original productions, Riflefeet has delivered a futuristic view of electronic music by blending broken beats, global influences, heavy bass, and gritty underground techno sounds. 

Riflefeet is well established in bay area underground and club bookings performing for Direct to Earth, Parameter, SPAZ, 5lowershop, Outlet, DoesItBang?, DEFSF, Acid Totem, Wook, Higher Conscience, and Thought Society as well as contributing to podcasts by Parameter SF, DoesItBang? and Acid Totem.  Bills have been shared with touring artists such as Paradox, Forest Drive West, Overlook, Axkan, DJ Deep, Exos, 1800HaightStreet, Cory Simpson, Subersive, Raiz, The Automatic Message, Kafka, Andrew Boie.
