I missed my flight just the other day
Because I read the time the wrong way
But I had had such a pleasant stay
It’s kind of nice when plans break
So, I went to my local coffee shop
The barista knew my order on the spot
Black coffee with a double espresso shot
It was kind of nice to extend my stop

I’m stuck in a city that I barely know
But I have never felt less alone
I missed my flight and so it showed
So, she took me into her home
In paid rooms, with travel guides
Trying to find where the locals hide
I had luck on my side
Because Lara took me in arms wide

Why do I really have to leave?
I’ve grown to love where I’ve come to be

She took me to the local park
And laughed at all my dumb remarks
“The park used to be an airplane field,
And I forgot I missed my flight earlier.”
She told me of my new plan
A flea market with sweater stands
On the way I saw a reggae band
Although, I never felt that plane land

Why do I really have to leave?
