Having racked up releases on 2020Vision, Mobilee, Visionquest, Defected, Vakant, VIVa, and Souvenir to name just a few, Forrest has had a very prolific few years. Collabs with Avatism & Eric Volta, support by tastemakers like Richie Hawtin, Cajmere and Solomun, every indication is that this is an artist set to explode this year. He’s also just launched Amadeus records, and will have his debut album out in 2015. Impressed yet?

Teaming up with Bangkok’s Sunju Hargun sees Forrest at his most club oriented, crafting four expertly produced tech-house tracks perfect for late-night sets at super-clubs the world over. No vocals this time around, with melodies subdued, this EP is straight to the point, stripped to the basics - potent.

It's been a long time in the making. From their early days as label-mates on the legendary Gigolo records, these two dons have remixed each other, DJ'd back-to-back, even worked on the same motion picture together (Ivory Tower), but not until now have they teamed up so completely, or to such devastating effect. On the eve on BNR's 10 year celebrations, where the two will headline a series of 6 shows together, Turbo proudly presents '100.'

Both producers come through clearly: the slamming drums and acid Boys Noize has so thoroughly mastered, the clever vocal hooks, catchy basslines and ravey breakbeat flourishes that are the feathers in Tiga's boa - the best of both artists are brought together here, with a distinct nod to their electro roots. It's an immediate winner, asserting it's sonic prowess through a flawless arrangement, confidently proclaiming it's perfection in a slick, round triple-digit. One-hundred.

The magic, as in Mind Dimension, Let's Go Dancing, or Bugatti, is for packaging true pop into a compact, techno power-punch that leaves underground cred intact. Both Tiga and Boys Noize are outstandingly versatile DJs who consistently yearn for something more than the obvious tropes of EDM, embracing extremes, fitting in the esoteric, being connoisseurs of a multitude of micro-genres of electronic music. 'Jam #1' is an ode to these low-slung techno roots, a stripped-down bonus beat that lays down the law of the drum machine, and sets the stage for the forthcoming '808 IRAQ' pulled from the same Berlin studio-session, soon to be released on BNR.

the worlds gone crazy™️ and 85% of shit has changed since 1992.

but this hasn’t, not really. this is what i do, and have been doing every night since i was 17.

i find records i love, i fly to a city. i take a nap. i play the records for people. they dance. i get paid i go home.

sometimes i actually think there might be something wrong with me to STILL be doing this. am i stupid?

HOW…. how could you STILL be playing records for people at 5am. shouldn’t you have developed an APP? A line of Wellness Products? surely you should have “sold your company” by now? WRITE A DECK? raise capital!!!! Get bored.
but then i play a set like this (link above) and remember that this is, in fact, as good as it gets, that the core idea i had as a 16year old was actually the BEST idea: to live a life surrounded and protected by MUSIC. armed with your favourite songs, the ones that keep you young and confidant, the ones you want to share with friends.

so that is DJing for me. simple. not particularly revolutionary… except for the fact that to be excited and happy seems revolutionary these days.

also: i’ve played about 4500 parties. and most are like 6 or 7 on tens….. sometimes an 8.

THIS WAS A 10. And the 10s never get recorded. there are lots of exclusives and THREE of my new tracks. and its been recorded WITH all the crowd noise…. trust me its a good one.
