'Beirut’s Bachir Salloum continues a prolific run of high-quality releases and label debuts, joining Akbal Music with four-tracker ‘Everything Is Now’. The rising talent hasn’t looked back since early support from Black Coffee, Damian Lazarus, Patrice Bäumel, Henry Saiz and more launched his international career.

The EP has a deliberately varied range of moods. ‘I wanted to create a variety of choices from intro tracks to bridge and peak time slots,’ says Bachir, whose sets deftly balance melody with emotion. 

‘Everything Is Now’ has an intriguing, slow start with mingling elements scattering impressions, picking up the pace with thoughtful piano fragments introduced during the extended breakdown. A more ambient contribution to the EP. 

‘Eclipse’ lays down a relentless percussive groove riffing on the central melody, with some growling synths and menacing horns in the background, gradually gaining in speed and force.  

‘Sunflower Fields’ starts with shaking maraccas and light bongo percussion, giving a sunny feel, before a complex bass riff kicks in, followed by a melody on pizzicato strings from the breakdown onwards. More of a rollocking pace to this one, a versatile track for your feet as much as your ears. The LADS remix brings humming, melancholic synth chords to the fore, with distant voices of children at play juxtaposed with them in the extended breakdown. 

‘I used the moog Sub 37 to write the main melodies for ‘Everything Is Now’ including omnisphere supporting pads and TR8 for drums. With ‘Sunflower Fields’ I used the TR8 to focus more on the groove. With ‘Eclipse’ I had the melody playing in my head one night in quarantine while I was sleeping; I woke up and wrote it straight away, then built the track around it.’

An alumnus of Beirut’s famous club scene, Salloum’s new EP is a worthy successor to his 3rd Avenue debut, joining imprints like Balance and Juicebox Music in his impressive back catalogue. Several more exciting releases are planned for this summer too, as his relentless rise continues.'

"Banzai" is based on the culture of the island of Okinawa, the place
where Karate originated. Story of strength, love, and loyalty. 

Finally "Occi Azzurri" was created
based on an Italian poem that a sailor dedicated to his homeland in World War II. 

These 3 stories together will be presented along with 2 remixes by HAFT (Do Not Sit) and Eduardo McGregor

It may sound like "deja vu", but considering that the greatest number of musicians comes from Argentina, you will have to get used to the beginnings of the release descriptions.
Argentine musician Alan Cerra is one of those who has recently left a serious mark on the edm scene with masterful music signed for record labels such as One Of A Kind, YOMO Records, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, etc. His sounds range from more aggressive progressive to deep and organic sounds of house music.
This time he decided on slightly deeper sounds interspersed with progressive rhythms and put together his first release for The Purr, a three-track release called "Temperance"!

The latest offering from Sound Avenue finds the label presenting new interpretations of 'Turmeric Latte' by Madloch Subnode and Pedro Capelossi. Originally released in November of 2020 as part of the trio's EP under the same name its smoky late-night charm resonated with DJs and fans alike making for a hugely successful first-time collaborative project from Madloch Subnode and Pedro. Now looking to bring new life to the much-loved track Sound Avenue invites Nhar Darper and Erol Arda to re-imagine the production for the summer of 2022.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of ‘Turmeric Latte' is Nhar. With a career that now stretches the better part of two decades French artist Bernhard Siefert aka Nhar has showcased his deep and atmospheric sound via Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant Azzur Darkroom Dubs Mobilee Records Seven Villas and more. Also highly regarded as a live performer and DJ Nhar has continued to travel the world mesmerizing crowds with his elusive brand of mesmerizing electronic music. Now on the strength of a remix for Everything WIll Be OK Nhar adds Sound Avenue to his resume with a spirited take on ‘Turmeric Latte'. While keeping the spirit of the original in mind Nhar lightens the mood with a version that's sure to resonate across dance floors with its charismatic design and youthful exuberance. Undeniably positive throughout its buoyant bass tones do wonders to create depth space and swing while vocal fragments emerge with a tasteful elegance against a backdrop of cascading arps and colourful effects pushing onwards to a smooth finale.

The latest release from Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint welcomes Golan Zocher back to the label for his debut EP ‘Te Para Tres’. The Colombian born, Israel based artist made his debut on the Argentinean imprint in March of this year with a well received remix of ‘Epiphany in the Woods’ by Sebastian Sellares. Also laying claim to releases on Lonya’s Asymmetric Recordings and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records, Golan now returns to Or Two Strangers for his first EP alongside remixes from Berni Turletti and Sounom & Sagou.

Beginning with the title selection Golan shows just how boundless his studio repertoire can be. While some of the Colombian’s productions carry more of a  peak time flair, ‘Te’ finds that creative place between deep and progressive house. It’s well contoured low end carries a large presence while waves of percussion and a quirky lead theme advance the narrative. As momentum builds, smooth chord changes and a delicate arp play off each other for moments of emotional charm. Free flowing into the break, timely modulation adds drama and character before melting down to a stripped piano laced section that is sure to capture the heart of your dance floor. The companion piece ‘Para Tres’ ups the energy with a driving, free flowing narrative. A rolling low end sets the track in motion as buoyant themes and lively rhythmic concepts move through the framework. Rising atmospherics add depth and intrigue as drifting harmonics and a poignant melodic theme lead into the main break. Impassioned and hopeful, the one minute interlude sits as the emotional core of the piece, slowly saturating your senses before a timely drop resets the framework for a heartfelt finale.

The first interpretation of ‘Te’ is provided by Berni Turletti  who returns to the label following his ‘Surround Us With Love’ single from July of last year. Hailing from Cordoba, the Argentinean artist is fresh off a contribution to Nick Warren’s ‘The Soundgarden Miami Sampler’. Now presenting his first remix of 2019, Berni puts a dubbier twist on ‘Te’ with great results. Backed by a warm, full groove the Argentine’s detailed drum work and subtle harmonic shifts quickly appease the senses. Metallic designs add a flair for the dramatic while emotive chord changes and a tranquil storyboard set up the main break perfectly. The nearly two minute interlude is a feast for the senses, as it ebbs and flows through cinematic soundscapes before a flurry of drums sparks a euphoric build and exhilarating finale.

The second interpretation of ‘Te’ is provided by Sounom & Sagou who make their label debut here. The Dutch duo have found a home on Paul Hazendonk’s Manual label family having appeared on Cinematique, MNL and Manual Music. Now fresh off an EP for the UK’s Flemcy Music, Sounom & Sagou debut on Or Two Strangers with a heady interpretation of ‘Te’. Engaging from the outset, it’s warm, tightly knit framework is crafted to perfection with spacey effects and ethereal melodies converging for the ultimate sonic story. Fluid bass stabs carve out a free flowing groove while buzzing synths and haunting overlays lift the mood higher as the main break commences. Perfectly timed, the track’s centrepiece is dramatic and direct, dissipating to a gentle sonic sizzle as the groove drops for one final rush. A brilliant remix from Sounom & Sagou which rounds out another must have release from Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint.

➳ Vinícius Souza Aka RIGOONI is a brazilian producer/dj. Coming from a family of music lovers, it was just a matter of time for the young man to find his purpose. It was through his parents, listening to vinyl records since childhood, where he obtained his greatest musical influences. Self-taught, Vinícius began his productions at the age of 11 allowing himself to explore different genres of house music, building a melodic, organic, atmospheric and exciting sound to bring many positive vibes. 

In 2019 RIGOONI signed with the iconic label Balance Music for Nick Warren's album with the song "Dreamed Numbers" which reached # 3 of the label's best-selling tracks, in addition to having the honor of launching the track in vinyl format, alongside great names such as: Nick Warren, Nicolas Rada, Hernan Cattaneo, Audio Junkies, Armen Miran, Kamilo Sanclemente, Six, Black 8 and Eli Nissan.

In 2020 RIGOONI reached the EP "Serenade" on the great The Soundgarden with 4 tracks. August Tears, Serenade, Eudaimonia and A Blue Rose For Daniele, a track that was charted by Sébastien Léger on his Beatport "Secret EP" Chart. In the middle of the year, RIGOONI does a remix for Namatjira on Manual Records that was played by Guy J on his Echos Show, days later a great EP was released by Higher States, with a massive remix by Alex O'Rion on "When Midnight Comes".  For closing the year in the best way, A Horse and a Blowing Horn was selected to enter Nick Warren's The Soundgarden Winter Collection.

In 2021 RIGOONI continues to rise on the scene and scores a major release in Anjunadeep with full support from Tony Mcguinness on Anjunadeep Explorations 17. Throughout the year he made his debut on Particles, Good News Records, LAIKA Sounds, Just Movement, Plaisirs Sonores Records, Belong To Label and The Purr. At the end of the year, RIGOONI started releasing their own sample packs on their bandcamp.

In 2022, RIGOONI kicks off with a remix for the duo Madraas on Get Physical's Kindisch label, earning a premiere on the renowned When We Dip channel.
