Rerecording of my set from the Friendz Reunion Boat party. Great party, great weather, awesome tunes from all the DJs, pretty honoured to close the DanceLoveHub deck. Its a mixture of chunky prog, trance and acid, all with a sunshine sparkle (at least, I think so!) 

Unfortunately the live recording was knackered, but this redo does mean that you get to hear the last tune I had planned which didnt get aired on the day due to some overzealous bouncers :D Enjoy!

Dance Love Hub 10 Year Residency Party Teaser (Part 7 - The JOOF Era)

Hej! Multiple takes of new & almost new music I enjoy at the moment. Comment if you like what you hear.

For the past two decades Rígur Lárus, formerly known as Rui, has been exploring and finding the essence behind various straightforward genres. From Trance to Techno and everything in between. Always in search for that specific trance feeling and storytelling in music.

Growing up as the youngest of four siblings, he acquired a matured music taste rather quickly and this propelled him into the late 90’s trance scene. Highly inspired by the Magik Mix Series he started mixing with vinyl. The storytelling in this mix series, to this day, is unheard of and still the foundation & inspiration for the music Rígur Lárus selects for his mixtapes today.

Timeless and ever effective melodies, found in various styles, is what distinguishes his mixtapes. Making them a crossover blend of various styles from older & new Progressive, Deep House to Melodic Techno. Discovered in different places and with that specific trance feel and emanating old sounds that marked him as a teenager. 

At one point Rígur Lárus took a three year hiatus to start selling vinyl as Troost Records, for the love of vinyl. Sending various House genres all over the world. Making people happy with the older sounds, because people really need to know where it all started, as part of music education.

The start of ‘17 he reignited his passion for making mixtapes for smaller audiences on Soundcloud. Aptly titled Make Mixtakes, always striving for the perfect blend with some raw edgy mixing. Rígur Lárus could never leave the unanswered feeling of passion for melodic music in the past. Therefore making him determined to be heard today with his unique quirky sound. An acquired taste.
