Fanu is a seasoned Finnish artist in the world of broken beat music, boasting over 30 years of experience in music production and more than two decades as a DJ. His enduring passion lies in crafting unpredictable and ever-evolving rhythms.

He made his initial mark in the early 2000s, contributing to influential breakbeat-focused record labels like Subtitles, Commercial Suicide, Offshore, and Subtle Audio. Eventually, he earned a distinguished place within the revered Metalheadz collective, a pivotal influence on his career.

As a DJ, Fanu extensively toured Europe and the USA, establishing himself as an early supporter of the Finnish Straight Up Breakbeat label. He consistently kept his finger on the pulse of the global breakbeat scene.

Fanu's musical journey includes noteworthy achievements like remixing tracks by Amon Tobin (not once, but twice) and having his beats featured on a Nine Inch Nails album. Rumors also abound of an upcoming remix for Source Direct and a house music release endorsed by Goldie himself.

When he's not composing or performing music, Fanu channels his expertise as an internationally acclaimed audio engineer, ensuring top-tier sound quality for others. He's also a dedicated teacher, sharing his knowledge as Finland's sole Ableton Certified expert.

Considering that Fanu embarked on this musical journey at the tender age of 12 in the remote corners of his hometown, his accomplishments are truly remarkable.

The first single from Yummi Wisler Guitar Combo’s Raw Tapes debut is “Albanian Shuffle” — a mix of sounds that hint at the unpredictable, mischievous style that Wisler concocted across the album. At its core, “Albanian Shuffle” is a 12-bar blues tune, with Wisler’s guitar snaking through your speakers like some forgotten riff from a traveling bluesman. But listen closer; those quivering guitar tones will remind you of 1960’s surf rock. Amir Bresler’s pitter-pattering percussion waft between jazz and garage. And that wobbly, shape-shifting gong in the background is a big metal bowl filled with water. Wisler loves that you can’t quite put your finger on it all: “It’s like opening a door into the middle of a party, where strange people dance to strange music.”
