Another musical daydream based on experiments with modular synthesis, starting with various arpeggiated chords from the E370 internal sequencer and explorations of the Xoac digital frequency shifter, useful for making dramatic bass sounds. The piece finishes quietly with a nighttime field recording of Echo Lake (Maine) set to musical accompaniment  - you can hear some loon calls if you listen carefully. 

Much has happened in the last few months: a move required the studio be put in storage for months, then when it was fully restored in our new home, the music computer died. Now that the new music work station is installed and ready for action, I'm finally back in business again. Some of the clips used here were developed in the computer's absence, hence an experiment in DAW-less sound design, which I must admit, isn't my favorite way to work.

Composed with hydrophone recordings made around the larger pond of the park named Solacz here in Poznan. Mixed live with various softwares just today. Electronics and synth dubbed in just today.

Hako Dance Ceremony

A collaboration with a music friend Encym (Roland). I have done a few collaborations with Roland now and it is always a pleasure to work with him.
This track contains a number of wonderful samples that Roland sent me earlier in the year. These have been manipulated with an apps such as Fluss and SpaceCraft and with effects added from a Nembrini delay, Other Desert Cities and Speaker.

The track was put together in AUM.

Barbican Drones (with Encym)

Multlayer performance by Jeff Gburek and Karolina Ossowska. Compositional framework generated by JG -- process derived from feeding a fire place while playing frame drum, cymbals and singing bowls so that the sounds of kindling, shovelling ash and other actions blend with the playful dance or organizing the burn. Karolina Ossowska improvised 3 violin tracks to accompany the stem sounds. These violin sounds (col legno battuto, flageolets, pressurized bow-drags) were reconfigured, splintered with various time-line offsets but remain organic and never subjected to any granular convolutions. Sounds from shortwave radio SDR create a kind of cantus firmus reflecting yet again the ionosopheric morphing layers of the planet in geomagnetic warped transitions as expressed by signals bounced into open radios tuned between stations on the floor. Work in progress/regress, clearly. I am reminded of a recent conversation whereine I paid homage to the nature mystic and great Romanian-born architect of chaos theory music, Iannis Xenakis.
