Voice

This is the ambient version of Voice. The piece is created from a flute improvisation loaded in a QU-Bit nebulae buffer combined with a voice like electronic texture from the Moog Mother-32 and granular delay algorithm of the Erica Synth Pico DSP. The plucking sound is produced with the frequency modulation (FM) model of the Mutable Instruments Plaits module.

Ambient Voice

This is the first movement of four in From the Bottom of a Well (Från botten av en brunn) based on Haruki Murakami's novel Kafka on the Shore. The the sounds were designed from, and the music was written from a grounded theory analysis of the book. This is an etude for using audiovisual eurorack modules combining analogue video modules from LZX with and audio from Moog M32 and DFAM synthesizer modules with Doepfer utility modulers. The system, foreign to me, was curated by the audiovisual producer Andrew Scott at University of Dalarna.

Thick Textured Motif

This piece started as an etude for using prime devisions of the clock with percussion sounds from the Instruō Cs-L complex oscillator panned left and right. The entire track was build around this using the modular system. The base flute is recored and frozen into the memory buffer of the Mutable Instrument Beads module. Everything is multitrack recording of a performance with the patch and system.

Pappa går bort den 2024-05-24 efter en tids kamp mot leukemi. Medan han blev allt sjukare så samtalar vi om livet, det som varit och döden som ska komma. This track is created based on a triad C minor accord on the grand piano drone processed via the Mutable Instruments Clouds eurorack module. The piece is performed on a eurorack system and a grand piano and multitrack recorded using a DAW.

Horisontal Sound Textile

This track is an etude using the Mutable Instruments Clouds eurorack module as a granular delay on almost all stems including the kick drum.

Granular Delay Line Etude

I made this track as an etude for the Verbos Electronics Noise & Filter and Xaoc Devices Kamieniec modules. The the second, third, and fourth filter band of the Verbos Noise & Filter module produce the source for the clap, open hi-hat, and shaker sounds. I recored a one take multitrack performance, and applied some equalising, dynamic processing, editing and mixing in a digital audio workstation.

Sonically

This is an ambient version of the Sonically track. It is made by stripping down the patch from Sonically keeping the pad, bass and flute.

Sonically Ambient

This track was recorded during a rehearsal for a eurorack improvisation concert. The improvisation is based on from zero patching, meaning there are no patch cables connected and all sequencer and sample memory buffers are cleared.

Sine Noise Pulse

This piece of music was create with a eurorack system and bass flute. The chord were created playing notes from the chord into the buffer of the Mutable Instrument Beads module. The downward sounding progression is actually upwards Em, Am, Bm, C, D.

Forest Roaming

The insomnia you get from to much work and the glitch in ones circadian rhythm when the full moon accompanies you on your fight with the inevitable deadline.

Nightglitch

This piece is based on a flute improvisation recorded in the forest over a phrygian scale arpeggio created with a small Eurorack modular system and choir samples.

Texas Violence is about my anxiety for going to Texas in May this year. I have tried to find an angle that gives hope in a world that collapses in violence, whether it involves violence between different groups: ethnic, religious, or economic.

"We must stop the violence!"

This song is the first song in over fifteen years that I began the process by playing the keyboard. First a pulsating synth bass, and from there developed song intuitive. Soon I discovered that music had taken me in a Wilder / Recoilesque direction ...

Texas Violence

The GLADE is an interactive post-digital sound and light installation that explores our relation to the forest. In the Nordic folklore, the forest is home to supernatural creatures. In today's post-Christian Sweden the forest is a spiritual space. However, the Swedish forest is cultivated, where there is a monoculture of the same species and age that is harvested industrially with hostile clearings.

In this étude I rehearse how to use Mutable Instrument Stages as LFO and envelope. I also only use the Moog Mother-32 as sound source and sequencer, white noise as source for snare and percussion and LFO in audio rate for the kick, via Mutable Instrument Veils.
