“With Takin’ Over I wanted to do something for the summer with a slightly old school flavour. It’s the most melodic track I’ve written in a while and I specifically had Ibiza’s beaches in mind in the studio. I wanted it to be a track that would sound good pre-club, post-club and in a club – so the chord stabs are soft and the acid riffs sparse and echoed so it has a laid back feel and I layered some ambient noise in the background so it sounds a bit like it was recorded live at some outdoor beach club somewhere…” – Quivver

The extraordinarily evocative title track is a truly beautiful musical master-class, with a timeless quality that immediately sets this EP apart from so much of today’s disposable mass music production line. “Lose Your Way” ups the energy levels and darkness factor, its filmic qualities taking things into a very different audio-visual realm. In yet more textural contrast, “Time Goes By” displays a deeply euphoric attitude that is uplifting, intelligent and magical. There can be no doubt that Quivver remains one of the world’s standout electronic artists in 2015.

John Graham (Quivver) started his production career in the early 1990’s, and has been a household name within the electronic music scene ever since, operating under various monikers, each representing a different shade of his incredibly broad, eclectic production palette. Not only a worldwide renowned DJ/Producer, as a vocalist, John has collaborated and written electrifying songs for the likes of Hybrid, Planet Funk and also Darren Emerson’s The Low Highs. His new rock/electronic album "Cold Sun" has also just been released.

Partial Press Release: The 43rd release on microCastle welcomes Brian Cid back to the label for a brand new EP. The NYC based artist has enjoyed much success since his label debut in December of 2014. An EP on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound and a mini LP on Guy J's Lost & Found Records top his 2015 highlights, while 2016 holds even greater promise with a new project for Cityfox on the horizon. Over the last 12 months Brian's sound has taken on a life of its own, increasingly organic and deeply emotional, the US artist has further stretched his sonic boundaries, with luminaries such as Adriatique, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Richie Hawtin and Thugfucker now play listing his music. His return to microCastle has been much anticipated and a quiet start to 2016 has only made his rapidly expanding fan base even hungrier for new material. Brian now presents his second EP for the Canadian imprint entitled 'Belles Du Shaman' alongside a remix from Eagles & Butterflies.

The EP's second selection 'Plastic Memoir' finds Brian crafting what might be the most heartfelt composition of his career. It's ten magnificent minutes is highlighted by subtle emotive shifts, minimalistic yet powerful grooves and a melody that will resonant in your heart long after the night is over, as Brian describes "Plastic Memoir was written to be a long musical journey. Something magical happened when I played these melodies on the keys. I must've hit some notes that took me back to a memory that never really existed, but made me feel vulnerable in a beautiful way. That's where the title 'Plastic Memoir' comes from. A memory that really wasn't there - or was it? maybe from my past life? who knows. I kept it musically minimal and focused on the melodies which grow strong and then weaken throughout this magical trip."

Matteo Bruscagin and Visnadi team up to deliver an exciting collaboration project on Guy J’s imprint Lost & Found. ‘Indian Stories’ & ‘Memento’ both conjure up a collage of the duo’s trademark tech-house beat. Both tracks allow the producers to experiment and dabble in an array of tentative and atmospheric sounds that take the listener on a musical journey leading up to an inevitable euphoric drop. 

Matteo Bruscagin has released music under different names on quality labels like Wave Music and Yoshitoshi, while Visnadi has had Top 10 pop dance smashes around the World, but also being part of legendary house act 'Cool Jack', as well as making the classic 'Racing Tracks' that was a Renaissance anthem for Sasha and Digweed and even a favourite of John Peel.

‘Indian Stories’ begins with an airy atmosphere of white noise leading into a stripped down 4/4 bass drum, to which the duo introduce a selection of weird and wonderful synths and experimental sounds. The ambitious nature of both Bruscagin and Visnadi is apparent here as they create something fresh and different. The track’s emotional and euphoric current is sure to creep into many a sublime sunrise set. 

‘Memento' carries much of the same vibe as the opening track with heavy use of delayed atmospherics. The track welcomes the duo’s recurrent sine wave bass upon multiple loops of tribal drums and rising strings under a constant current of white noise and lush chords. The ingenious use of warm and delicate sounds upon a brooding sounding rhythm section highlights the importance of this impending release to all experimental DJs looking to fill their set with something a little different to the norm.

Matteo Bruscagin and Visandi’s collaboration has resulted in beautifully haunting music that is tailored for the true music lover.

Partial Press Release: The 44th release on microCastle welcomes Mike Griego to the label for his debut EP. The Argentinean artist closed out 2015 with a remix of Hernan Cattaneo & Guy Mantzur's 'Imaginarium'. That strong momentum continued as 2016 began with his much loved 'Sofia' production being licensed to John Digweed's 'Live In Montreal' mix compilation, released on Bedrock in February of this year. Mike has long been and remains one of his country's most in demand DJs, making regular appearances at Bahrein, La Boite and The Bow. Now presenting his first new productions of 2016 Mike makes his long awaited debut on microCastle with the 'Idioglossia EP', alongside remixes from BOg and Hermanez.

The companion piece 'Limbo' finds Mike crafting another strong melodic production aimed squarely at the dance floor. First unveiled by Hernan Cattaneo at Moonpark, Buenos Aires in September of last year; it's electric feel, rhythmic qualities and emotive moments come together in perfect unison for the ultimate sonic collage. As Mike explains "I made 'Limbo' while playing with my new synths; the Moog Slimphatty, Virus T1 and Maschine. It's always a great source of inspiration to get new hardware. Being able to touch an instrument allows you to transform what you have in your mind so much easier than making clicks on a screen. With ‘Limbo’ I wanted to try and write something twisted but at the same time melodic. These types of tracks need to be balanced; too melodic with no groove does not work on the dance floor at all, and I love to make people dance, this one ended up having that perfect balance."

The original “Sad Robot” collaboration between Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur was heaped with acclaim when it first appeared on John Digweed’s Bedrock label a year ago. This sparkling gem of a track pushed all the right buttons with a euphoric attitude that only comes from years of experience of rocking the best dancefloors around the world week in week out, and now the label is set to take the story to the next level with 3 diverse, exciting new remixes.

The enigmatic Rich Lane from Newcastle Under Lyme (who also records under aliases such as Original Disco Thing and Chug Norris) has been gaining plaudits for his musical creations that loosely fall into the realms of what are variously tagged “Slo-Mo”, “Chug”, “Nu-Disco” and even “NEW New Beat”.  By channelling the sounds and feel of classic House, Techno, New Beat etc. and mellowing the groove towards a slower mid-tempo ride, whilst adding a sprinkling Post Punk, Funk and Synth Pop, Rich Lane is a masterful producer who draws together so many disparate elements that seem to unite a particular type of music lover.
