This song played when I was in the middle of packing to move out. I started crying because I suddenly realized in that moment I was no longer a kid and I realized I wasn't gonna be there for my mama no more. My grandpa also died when I was a young boy. I never got to really know him too much. I never got that father who would play ball with me, but I did have an uncle who filled that gap and my dad tried to be there, but he lived too far to see him all that often. God how the years went by Ha ha... It makes you realize how fast it all goes by...

I lost my grandpa march of last year and this song still gets to me because I miss that man every single day he was like my father as well because my biological father was never there so my grandpa stepped up and became a dad figure to me I wish I could tell him how much he has done for me and all the love he has showed me

Born in Jacksonville, Alabama, Riley Green was raised on the sounds of traditional Country, Bluegrass, and Southern Gospel music. He learned the spirit of songwriting and performing at a young age while spending time with his grandfather, Bufford Green, who ran the Golden Saw Music Hall. Riley shared the stage with him and other men of his generation, laying a foundation for the songs he’d craft in the years to come.
