Take Me Home - Phil Collins cover

I wrote it after watching Interstellar. That movie blew me away. I was really intrigued by Matt Damon’s character that was stuck on the icy planet for a long time. I wanted to write it from his perspective and how it must have felt being stranded there for years, alone. It’s about dealing with loneliness and wondering if anyone is out there listening.

Jerad Griffin is a one stop artist who creates music under the name Rilian. Made in Tampa, Florida, Rilian is what most would call loud/melodic space rock, but while the music is created with HUGE drums and thick, distorted guitars, the vocals are comprised of smooth, catchy hooks that will will instantly be stuck in your head.

Rilian is heavily influenced by bands from the 90's alternative rock scene. HUM, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, and Defones are all major inspirations. The music is meant to be a homage to those bands and that decade of musical brilliance while still having its own unique sound and message to the listener. "Are You Out There?" is the 1st single for Rilian released by Kenobi Records in San Diego, California and is a perfect example of what you can expect to hear from Rilian on future releases.
