Rilis was a label born in 1999 from master producer Rino Cerrone’s need for an outlet for his functional, floor facing productions. Initially intended to be a series of ten limited and untitled releases, a series of tech house loops were also released in the meantime with the category numbers 1.5 through to 10.5, and they were so well appreciated by DJs and dancers that now the label, and Rino himself, have a great reputation throughout the international scene. Nobuharu Morimoto debuts on Unrilis with a hypnotic techno EP with flowing rhythms.

Hailing from Japan, Nobuharu Morimoto is based in Tokyo where he is a resident DJ at two of the city's leading techno events, plug, and OUTSIDER. He has a dynamic style, ranging from Detroit-inspired deep techno to high-velocity tracks with driving energy.

This is Nobuharu Morimoto's first time working with Unrilis, and he joins the record label following music on other respected imprints.

"Hina Matsuri" has a heads-down groove where rattling hi-hats overlay the morphing tones of the playful lead synth, and the rumbling bassline augments the hammering kick drum.

Tokyo-based techno DJ and producer Nobuharu Morimoto makes his debut on Unrilis with a hypnotic EP defined by flowing rhythms and immersive soundscapes. A fixture of the city’s underground scene, he holds residencies at two of Tokyo’s premier techno events, plug and OUTSIDER, delivering sets that span Detroit-inspired deep techno to high-energy, driving tracks.

Following releases on respected labels, Morimoto now joins Unrilis with a refined and emotionally charged sonic approach. The EP opens with “Soramakase,” built around a rolling groove, pulsating bass, and muffled vocals, layered with dystopian pads that heighten tension, while the breakdown introduces rising jazzy chords.

Legendary Italian techno label Unrilis, founded by top producer Rino Cerrone and A&R’ed by Luigi Madonna & Roberto Capuano, turns 10 in 2016, and this next EP is the first of many special anniversary releases planned by the label. It comes from acclaimed talent Enrico Sangiuliano and features a stunning remix by Mark Reeve.

Enrico Sangiuliano came up through illegal raves and is now a top DJ who plays all over the world and has his music played by the likes of Adam Beyer and Sven Vath. He has had the longest ever running techno number one on Beatport (his remix of ‘Can You Hear Me’ for DJ Boris on Alleanza) and is one of the best selling artists on the site at any one time. His music comes on Cocoon and Drumcode amongst others, and is powerful, direct stuff for the dance floor.

Written entirely in Italy, “X-Pollination (or cross-pollination) is fundamentally the key factor of growth, consciousness and life,” says the artist. “It’s the way I connect with people, share my passion, fly from one place to another and put many influences and elements into my music.”

The title track is eight minutes of slow burning but hypnotic techno funk with rolling rubber drums and nervy pads. Frazzled synths add post apocalyptic vibes to this main room anthem and many well crafted peaks and troughs along the way help make it even more standout. It is a real techno classic in the making.

Mark Reeve is the UK star who remixes. He has a long history with techno that goes back to the rave scene. Since then his education has taken in trips to techno mecca The Omen, has resulted in music on Cocoon and collabs with Pig & Dan. He has also released on Drumcode and has a big rolling sound that fills the world’s finest clubs and warehouses with his unique grooves. His take on the original is more energetic, with searing synths, cantering kicks and a dark energy that makes you pump your fist and stomp the floor. It is full of drama and is perfect balanced from start to finish.

This is another fine release in a landmark year for one of techno’s most consistent performers.

Raffaele Rizzi is proud to release Secret Combination, a collection of two new tracks and a killer of a remix under the Unrilis label. The Argentinian duo’s last release on Unrilis picked up support from artists ranging from Adam Beyer to Slam, and this one is a much anticipated follow up.

Opening the EP is “Reflection Intro” which ramps up the tension with slow-building synths and dramatic bass stabs. The original mix of “Reflection” is next on the EP with its rattling hi-hats and pounding kick drum fused with the namesake vocal sample.

Second of the original cuts is “Tenebrous” that combines a flickering lead synth with explosive tom drums and thrashing off-beat hats. “Real Faces” closes the EP with its pulsating bass synth overplayed with bursts of euphoria perfect for maximum dance floor impact.
