May have some phasing issues, open for opinions.

As I was recording this, I thought, "It's true.  The passion for lovers is death.  It could be viewed that the ultimate goal for lovers is to die, while still passionately in love.  Maybe that's why Romeo and Juliet has that certain charge with us, the desperate roller coaster, the powerful feeling of new love, and to have it end in the throes of newness, well that's just tragic.  But yet, that must still be the goal.  In wedding vows, it's been said 'till death do us part.'  Then that must also be a goal.  So the old, Goth Muslim is right, again.  The Passion of Lovers is Death.  But as for the rest of these lyrics, 'She had nut painted arms that were hers to keep', etc.?  Well, I'm not sure what he means there, but it's all about the chorus, really isn't it.  As Dave Grohl smartly shared, 'Don't bore us, get to the chorus.'  Right you are Mr. Grohl.  And right you are, Mr. Murphy.  You fellas may be on to something."  That's what I thought, anyway....

Self Crucifixion by True to Life

True to Life was our band name.
It was early 1990, hair bands had invaded Hollywood.
Everyone wanted to be the next Motley Crue.
I remember being on a bill with a band called Spanx.
The guitar player was a 5'-2" long hair Japanese fellow who wore spandex pants.
We didn't quite fit into any scene, but we loved to play music.
It was clear that we were "Alternative" in the true sense of the word.
Then Nirvana came out and changed music forever....

When I was younger, I played a lot of music.  I wish I recorded it all.  Some sounds were just blips in the ether, when they could've been golden disks on my wall, or at least uploaded to Soundcloud and commented on....

This song was written shortly after Nirvana rocked our world.
Our 80's inspired, semi-goth, alternative, multi-cultural sound would never be the same...

I think this song is about vampires.  Or vampires, wanting to truly die.  Well before it's time, before girls wanted to bang vampires by choice.
