Next up in the series we have Charles Vaughan, an eclectic DJ and broadcaster whose sets vary from pulsating jazz & international oddities to selectors disco cuts and soulful house grooves. Charles is the co-creator of ‘Universal Sanctuary’ on Worldwide FM with Tina Edwards, a late-night exploration into the crossroads of jazz and DJ culture. Having made his Boiler Room debut supporting esteemed selector Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, as well as supporting acts including Esa at Pickle Factory and Dr Packer at Brixton Jamm, and completed a UK tour with Tina Edwards, Charles’ extensive experiences makes him a truly eclectic selector. His expansive sets broadcast new and familiar sounds to the dancefloor with infectious energy, no matter what the style. For his mix, Charles definitely lives up to his reputation, mixing a full range of feel good styles to get your lock down boogie on, check it!

Dan Only returns for his third release on Dirt Crew Recordings with his Deciduous Dubs EP. This release sees the Toronto-native continuing his journey into new musical territories, leaving behind the past and rebuilding his framework from scratch. Armed with Akai Samplers, 90s Romplers and some tried and true Roland classics, this release explores sounds that were informed by Dubstep, Hardcore, House and Techno.

The release opens with “Gateway Shuffle”. The half-time drums and breakbeats link it back to early dubstep and reinforce the ghostly harmonies that glide throughout. Warping basses, deep subs and distant voices welcome you into the sonic world of this release.

“Terraforming” gives you hope in the unknown. The digital pads wash in as the meandering melodies invite you in to take a leap of faith out into the open. A deep sub forms among the all familiar four-on-the-floor kick patterns, providing the foundation needed to lose yourself in groove. By the end, you’re dancing across new ground in a trance-like state.

“It’s Inside You” gets to the root of it all. Stripped back and ever-evolving, the bouncing bass line and shapeshifting landscape contorts around you as this techno groover pummels forward. This one is heady and contemplative and all about self-discovery on the dance floor.

We end our trip with “Macrodose”. Diving through twisting basses and breakbeat science, you’re taken deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, much farther than you anticipated. There’s a stark contrast between the reality you once knew and the one you are now in. If you can push through the peak you’ll be welcomed by a euphoric afterglow and strong sense of clarity.

Will Buck is a New York based DJ/Producer. For over a decade he’s held residencies from Europe to Miami. In addition to a busy tour schedule, Will spends time crafting productions for some of the industry’s finest House and Disco imprints. He’s played some of the most coveted DJ gigs at venues like Output (NYC), Elsewhere (NYC), Good Room (NYC), Space (MIA), Baum (Bogota), Flash (D.C.), III Points (Miami), Electric Pickle (MIA), Sutton (BCN), Full Moon (NYC), A Club Called Rhonda (LA), Soul Clap’s House of EFunk (MIA), Mysteryland & Tomorrowworld Festivals, Full Moon (NYC), Boiler Room and many more.
Will’s production has garnered the attention of Mixmag, Stamp The Wax, BBC Radio, Magnetic Mag, and many others since his first single release on Loveless records in 2014. One of the key influences for my shift from more US/vocal house to a much deeper overall feeling in the mid-late 90s was via the Northern UK 'deep house' labels, predominantly as 2020 Vision, Toko & in my then-hometown of Manchester, the outstanding Paper Recordings. The sound of Salt City Orchestra, aka Si Brad, Miles Hollway & Elliot Eastwick had a huge impact on me & totally moved my focus into a whole different sphere of sounds.
