Josip Katic aka ΛVΛTΛR J is a DJ/Producer currently residing in Rotterdam. As with many of us in the Electro community, at a young age, he was fascinated with breakdance and Hip Hop culture. During his adolescent years he shifted his interest to House and Techno. Now 15 years after the start of his initial love for Hip Hop, he is back to his roots playing Breakbeat and Electro. He spends time as an organizer of local events and producing new Electro material for future live performances.

Our next international podcast, @the-revolving-eyes, is by a DJ and producer from Belgium, and the key figure behind Moderne Recordings. His project (along with Zoopsie), The Revolving Eyes, draws from a diverse range of influences, blending the infectious groove of disco with experimental electronic, avant-garde industrial, and the dreamy textures of shoegaze. This combination results in a bold, energetic sound that merges LoFi-tech, funky weirdness, emo-punk, and more, all infused with a raw DIY attitude. In the beginning of the year, my old friend the Duke from Nation Records asked me to participate to his annual online gathering "Unlimited Nation", a reunion of music heads enthusiasts. 
I didn't had the chance to participate in the past, and I was really happy to be able to do it this time, but bad luck, due to a technical fiasco issue (I didn't prepared well for the online streaming), my set couldn't be streamed in the ideal conditions and we had to give it a term (at least people get a lot of fun seeing me taking the full storm from the duke ;D)))... 
Full of frustration after leaving the connection I decided to record it again, straight away, so here it is, a 2h selection of stuff that I have been playing in the past... it's raw, recorded in one take, mixed with a bunch of vinyls and 2x mk2 and xone 42 mixer at the studio of my friends Doo and Ogi in Belgrade, thanks to them for the hospitality.

Gehno Aviance, also known as One A, is a Spanish-Caribbean DJ and producer with a substantial history deeply rooted in the renowned House of Aviance since 1989. One A has released music on labels including AYLI Recordings, Housepit CHI and Koritsi Komma Records. In the summer of 2023, they underwent a significant life change by returning to their birth country of Spain.

Mechatronicast #13: No Moon

Expect the unexpected. That's the philosophy Rotterdam-based DJ mad miran promotes in her DJ sets. A regular on the Dutch capital's mainstay Red Light Radio and a face behind the counter at the infamous Clone record shop, Miran has fast become one of the country's most promising DJs. 

Although she only played her first DJ set in a club a couple of years ago, she's already landed a residency at Trouw successor De School and become part of the Strange Sounds From Beyond family, seeing her name spread like wildfire and lead to a string of gigs across Europe.

We invited her to dive into her record bag for us and the result is 80 minutes of leftfield electro, raw breaks and introspective electronica. Enter into the crazy world of mad miran...

mad miran: The 'Wednesday Alternative' Mix

Founder of “Pinkman Records” label and record store in Rotterdam, Marsman is one of the key figures of underground electronic music. Label manager, radio host and relentless DJ, his life is devoted to music and his aim is to represent artists sometimes in margin but always extra-talented. Marsman was at Motel Campo in April and delivered a futuristic techno / EBM set showing him at his best.
