For our 93rd Podcast we have a very special guest all the way from Spain. Anika Kunst comes to deliver a gem podcast for us demonstrating her talent to our region. Since she started out as a DJ in 2001.
Whenever she deejays in Barcelona or Ibiza (the two places she lays her hat when she isn’t touring), you can tell that her techno, equally influenced by German and American sounds, is the cornerstone of her sets. Well, you can tell if you are one of those weird people on the dance floor who has time to pay attention to what is playing and isn’t dancing. Because the charismatic creator of Chapter Records won’t let you look at her whilst she is looking at you: she deejays with her eyes on the dance floor. She reads the audience, manipulates the mood and reads the night. With latest tracks in labels like Rekids and Symbolism Anika is giving something to talk about.

THC Podcast Series 093 - Anika Kunst

The 20th episode of the Nachtblumen Podcast comes as a celebration of the 4th birthday of the platform which was earlier this month.

Olivier Morssinkhof also known as Morssink is an up and coming Dutch DJ born and based in Tilburg, The Netherlands.Having gone through the entire spectrum of genres gradually while growing up, Olivier was introduced to electronic music a few years ago, which happened to be his final destination. 
As the local techno scene in Tilburg isn’t so developed or big, Olivier was challenged to do a lot of discoveries on his own outside of a club environment. Understanding how a good set is built was one of those things. Tommy Four Seven has been one of his early inspirations, when it came to building a coherent techno experience. 

Nowadays, it is the hypnotic sound that mostly characterizes Morssink’s sets. Heavily influenced by Pole Group, he has managed to find that sweet spot between raw, straightforward and hypnotic sounds. His output is always incredibly consistent, and when you listen to a Morssink set you feel like you are in a proper club environment. 

In his mix for Nachtblumen, he really wanted to deliver a consistent story that demonstrates his skills, taste and love for the hypnotic sound. His appreciation towards my platform motivated him to bring his best techno set to date incorporating a lot of Nordic sounds and inspirations from this year’s Draaimolen experience.

Our 43 series we meet Tiefton, a Producer and DJ based in Frankfurt, Germany.

His musical journey started in 2015 and after a few years of exploring the styles of Techno it ultimately lead him to a deep and hypnotic sound where he finds most comfort and interest. 

In 2021 his debut as a producer started off with releases on respected labels. We highlight the "Logical Universe" released a weeks ago on Hayes Collective and "Izar" EP released on Anaoh.

- This is my first release, and with it, I want to share not just music, but an honest part of myself.
I didn’t follow any rules or stick to a specific genre while creating it—I simply let my thoughts, emotions, and sonic obsessions speak for themselves. Every sound here was crafted with the intention of gradually shaping what will become my sound, my identity.

This project is the first step on a path that’s just beginning. I know there’s still a lot to improve, but I also know that everything you hear here was made with passion, dedication, and a fully self-taught process.

More music will come this year, but this EP… this one is special.
