Hello :) 

This here is a mix that I put together in the spirit of sharing something on my birthday (mostly to feel okay about not baking 5 cakes for my colleagues...  #ichverstehenicht). To be fair, my cake mixes would have involved a similar amount of improvisation, love, and burnt calories as this one.

The tracks themselves formed part of my 2 hour opening set for Upstairs Basement on August 5th in Berlin. I was initially hesitant to play a techno party, having decided that I would keep my favourite genre out of this business of digging, but it was nice to put together what techno I had stumbled upon this year while treasure hunting in other genres.  

That being said, I hope someone enjoys listening to this as much as I enjoyed playing it. In case you only have 5 minutes, my favourite track is at the end

Sharing a deep understanding of the other one‘s musical taste and a similar vision for the dance floor, Hypnotist are excited to create something fresh!

This month, marienus had ENKA over at the container. ENKA is a DJ, producer, sound designer and composer for contemporary dance and film. This talented man has amassed the attention of Bunker Records, His Dark Elements and Modal Analysis already, with his sound that combines genres like ebm, acid and proper techno. He has released a collaboration with Extase Urbaine on Public Sex Regime’s v/a “The Pact” and there’s more to come. Definitely one to start keeping an eye on if you weren’t already.
