The mix was recorded after our one-off Bionda e Lupo live concert on occasion of the best NDW album of the past 25 years - La Deutsche Vita.

For my closing set I took over from Riccardi Schola, who graced our premiere by playing Tränen In Der Nacht four times that night. -  According to him due to the fact that he was confused by the 4 sides of the new record and not at all due to the Spritz he was enjoying with relish throughout the night.
BTW Riccardi's very own and second solo EP will be out soon on a private press 7" sparkling with two Italo songs.
My selection I played from vinyl however is all over Europe and Canada. - Although ... I can sense a certain French touch of mid 80's synth pop before I shift the energy to my obscure Neue Deutsche Welle edits.
I remember the elevating feeling to see one of my favorite DJ's Cid Hohner, dancing with his unmatched smile on his face during the last 30 minutes of this night.

"Since I was a little boy, music has been part of my life. The first contact I remember is with Jem and the Holograms."

Originally from Buenos Aires and now living the dream in Berlin and London, I've spent the last fifteen years mastering the art of DJing. My love for 90s dance music passed down from my mom and grandma, got me hooked on vinyl and dance beats from a young age. My record collection became my most valuable possession and has followed me loyally everywhere I go.

Lately, I've been busy in the studio, working on new music. My first track was released last July, and I'm excitedly cooking up Tremendo Recordings, my new record label, which will spotlight some gems from the past, with its first release coming out in September.  

As co-founder and booker of Hypersoft, a Berlin-based queer collective and club night, I'm all about creating inclusive dance spaces and giving fresh and seasoned DJs a stage, all while backing Queer, FLINTA+, and humanitarian causes. A very good friend ( and probably my N°1 fan) once described my DJ style as "a wild mix of 90s progressive house and trance, spiced with crazy Acid House, analogue synth, and Belgian new beat vibes, with a dash of psychedelic space techno." And I couldn't agree more with my friend's words.

Phantasy’s long-running mix series returns from hiatus with a transmission from one of the UK’s most exciting DJs, Tia Cousins. Already prolific in soundtracking the most vital spaces of European nightlife and club culture, back-to-back sessions with the encyclopedic likes of Optimo and Ruf Dug have demonstrated Cousins’ own nous and knowledge, but her Phantasy mix and other appearances prove that she needs no co-sign. Drawing from the truly offbeat corners of dance music, Cousins’ refined, resurgent chug explodes into shades of Italo, EBM and electro pyschedelia from the likes of DJ Subaru, Pachanga Boys and Mono Junk.

Italorator w/ Marsman [Episode 15]

Sound Metaphors (@sound-metaphors) is Nemo Ripoll and Castro Moore, but it is also the name of their famously well-curated label and record shop in Berlin. As such the pair has been helping to define the sound of the underground on many different fronts - electric DJ sets, cult events and even through the custom-made sound systems built for customers worldwide. With a vast musical knowledge between them and a never-ending supply of their own unreleased edits and DJ tools, they are able to tell musical stories that draw from all across all genres and many different eras.

That plays out in the superb mix they have put together for us this week. It's a full-bodied selection that shows off their love of contrasting styles - loose, percussive house music brushes up with deep and dubby cuts, dark acid grooves sit next to '80s synth sounds before a disco finish goes from stomping to funky. The exuberance of it all is infectious and leaves you wanting more.
